Spoiler

From episode 6 it was both the scene when that guy tied to a chair got shot and then when Malvo stabs and cut that other guy. From episode 1 it was the scenes with the hammer and when the sheriff dies. Several of these scenes are extremely zoomed in, and very slooow and looooong. Uncomfortable. We do not need to see it like that. Compare it with the scene when Malvo sits on the toilet, and then imagine that scene if the camera was IN the toilet zooming upwards in on Malvos butthole. We do not need to see the scene like that. Also, they are very aware that it IS violence porn because why did they not show Malvo killing the dog in the same extreme detail? Because they knew NOBODY wants to see that, not even the people who usually likes violence porn.

With that said, i actually saw episode 7 too, and it had a much better example on how to show a very violent scene. That is how you do it. With a little imagination, instead of going for the close-up slowmotion rub-your-face-in-it shots.

Re: Fargo

Then you better stay away from Hannibal if you consider violence in this "Uncomfortable".

As of this episode, Key & Peele! big_smile

I AM staying away from Hannibal just for that reason. Everything made about Hannibal Lecter turned into violence porn from the movie Hannibal back in 2001. The first movie Silence of the Lambs was not anything like that, and also the best one.

It seems you're more into this so called "violence porn" than you would admit...I think about 90% of the stuff on my watchlist also would be deemed inappropriate by you - lol

No, i am not into that aspect of it but i like much of the rest of Fargo. I like the story, actors, scenery and all that. That was why i could not keep away. smile

And yeah probably i would not like much of the stuff you watch.

Re: Fargo

The only movie i can remember where i felt really uncomfortable while watching because of the violence was Event Horizon. i watched it in the cinema back then and even had to close my eyes at times wink

Re: Fargo

I think it had a different tone, to show that a year had passed and lots of things had still not been resolved, but obviously lots of things had changed too.  Still 2 eps left though...

I personally think it's a great show, it's so laid back and kind of chilled out, despite some of the hard-core stuff that happens.

2020.  Meh.

Re: Fargo

Yeah, I did not see the point or motivation for that confrontation in the Vegas hotel. What was going on with that?

34

Re: Fargo

Lester is now a very different person.  He's very confident and not a pussy like he was before.  Plus he'd just picked up an award for being top dog at his firm and he'd been drinking.

2020.  Meh.

35

Re: Fargo

Not being a pussy is one thing, being suicidal is quite another.

36

Re: Fargo

Decent finale. I liked it. Hope the creators do another installment. Tell another story etc, I really liked the atmosphere and acting quality.

Spoiler

A surprisingly low body count for the final episode, I was expecting at least one tragic death of a main 'good' character. Could have sworn Colin Hanks or the old dad was gonna die.  RIP Key and Peele at any rate smile Was entertaining to see them as side characters in this.

37

Re: Fargo

I believe there is going to be another season but not with any of the season 1 characters. That may change as apparently the final decision has not been made yet.

38

Re: Fargo

Great show, probably my current #2 after Game of Thrones.

2020.  Meh.

Re: Fargo

Finally getting round to watching this over the next few days, after reading the comments I have high hopes for it smile

Re: Fargo

You will not be disappointed. Many of us were skeptical, but the show proved to be a most excellent effort and a worthy successor to the original Fargo. Not a continuation of the movie, but in the same "universe" and style. The creators of the movie were involved in the TV show and liked how it came out.

Re: Fargo

Yah, I just watched the movie for the first time and loved it mostly for the dark humour. Downloading the show right now. smile

The movie is better because it has that dark humour. The show is also good in many ways but you will get disappointed because it is much more dark and much less humour. It also has much more graphic violence that i felt was unnecessary. Other than that it is good. It (the tv-show) is also less realistic but that is not really a flaw, it is just different than the movie which is very realistic. Tv and movies do not have to be realistic, it is art. I generally prefer the style and feel of the movie though.

Hmmm, I don't think i agree with any of that!

Well, we all have different taste. I probably should have written that maybe xrnzaaas won't like it as much since that is how i felt about it and i also liked the movie for the same reason xrnzaaas mentioned. But you never know, some people don't feel that way. smile

Re: Fargo

Well once we started getting closer to the end we couldn't stop watching, that was brilliant smile

Re: Fargo

Ok so after watching The Golden Globe awards (I can't help it) I've decided to watch Fargo.
Watching the movie first, and will report in smile
