Topic: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series
From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series
Based on the thrill-ride film, this series is a supernatural crime saga centered around bank robber and his violent, unpredictable brother, who are wanted by the FBI and the Texas Rangers after a bank heist left several people dead. While on the run to Mexico, Seth and Richie encounter former minister Jacob Fuller (Patrick) and his family, whom they take hostage. Using the family RV to cross the border, chaos ensues when the group detours to a strip club that is populated by vampires. They are forced to fight until dawn in order to get out alive. The series deepens the tone of the film, adds new characters and backstories and expands the Mesoamerican mythology behind the creatures inside the club. Longer trailer is out - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjKVOfFovQ8 - it looks pretty bad, but I'll watch it anyway since I like Don Johnson. PS. And what the hell is Fez doing at around 2:10?

Re: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series
Yeah I dont remember the movie at all either. Judging from the first two episodes it seems really well made (compared to what I was expecting). It has potential.

Re: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series
Well, for me the biggest problem with the pilot is that you could clearly see that they prepared a "lighter version" for the purporses of a tv network. The replacement guys for Clooney and Tarantino aren't awful, but overall the actors aren't that good and some of the casting choices were strange (who's going to believe that Fez from That 70s Show is a drug lord?). Plus the pilot looked cheap and amateurish (not in a good Tarantino way ).

Re: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series
So far i like it, if you don't take it to seriously, it's quite entertaining. And it's directed from Robert Rodriguez who also directed the movie from 1996, so let's see where it goes.

Re: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series
Haven't seen the second episode yet, but damn that first half of the first episode was cringe-worthy. I'm a huge fan of the movie, I know every word of it by heart, and hearing CLEARLY lesser actors say lines way worse then they where originally spoken just made the whole scene unbearable. After they got through the stuff from the movie and started moving into Alternate Reality stuff it got way better, I eve bought Fez as the drug lord just cuz its so weird. Guess Ill hang around for a bit longer.

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Re: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series
I might check it out sometime, I clearly remember the movie because for me I had no idea what sort of movie it was as I had read nothing about it, so the twist where it changed halfway through (I won't mention in case anyone hasn't seen it) blew me away. From that moment I have tried my hardest not to watch trailers and read about movies too much before I see them.

Exactly the same as me. I'd heard it was a good film, and for the first half I thought it was nothing special and then WHAM! Great film. I've not seen the series yet, got too much other stuff to catch up on.
2020. Meh.

I get that, but it was always going to be an issue and they had to just burn past it. I didn't think it was that grating. Let's just hope they have an actual worthwhile idea for the (season's) story.

I don't think I have seen the movie, and I am not a big vampyre-theme fan. But I really like this TV-series, it is very entertaining. And yeah, nice to see it on netflix

Re: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series
Yes what a fantastic episode. ▼Spoiler Seth really got on my nerves this episode though. His delusional accusation of Richie trying to rip him off angered me. Especially since he heard him quite clearly say "She's real" about Santanico both at the end of last weeks episode and the start of this weeks. Can anyone with more knowledge of this universe answer one of my questions though. Why did the venom drain out of Ranger Freddie? That part confused me since either he should have died from the venom or he should have turned like the others. Does one have to accept to turn for the venom to work or something? Which brings another problem for me since everyone else except him seemed to turn. P.S. Anyone else notice how Santanico looked somehow alot like Lili Simmons during her dance or was the resemblance that I got during that part just a mind trick on my part?
