Topic: Better Call Saul
Better Call Saul
Six years before Saul Goodman meets Walter White. We meet him when the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and, often, against Jimmy, is ‘fixer’ Mike Erhmantraut. The series tracks Jimmy's transformation into the man who puts ‘criminal’ in ‘criminal lawyer’. Can't wait!!

Ugh, I hated his smarmy character when I watched Breaking Bad. Pass

Re: Better Call Saul
Since it happens before Breaking Bad (unless I'm wrong), I'm less interested somehow. I might go for it.
Myka : You slept with her didn't you ? Pete : Well... you... you told me to investigate ok ? So... she's unarmed.

Re: Better Call Saul
Gould: One of the great things about having a time line which is flexible is that perhaps some of it takes place before ‘Breaking Bad,’ during ‘Breaking Bad,’ and after ‘Breaking Bad.’ That gives us the ability to bring back characters that were killed on ‘Breaking Bad.

Re: Better Call Saul
Yeah, I'm thinking the showrunner and writers (not to mention the old Breaking Bad cast) are planning on having some fun with this.

Re: Better Call Saul
First episode was quite good, but the second was reeeeally good. ▼Spoiler The whole desert scene just reeked with BB atmosphere.

Re: Better Call Saul
Haven't watched the 2nd ep yet, but (just like when watching Breaking Bad) I found myself feeling so sorry for Jimmy/Saul and tensing up wondering what crap he'll have to take next.

Re: Better Call Saul
It's got the same intriguing, addictive vibe found in Breaking Bad. Both shows begin with an off-the-wall premise (high school chemistry teacher or halfass public defender) and go places with it no one expected.

Re: Better Call Saul
Breaking Bad was good in part because of great supporting actors and Odenkirk was one of the best.

Re: Better Call Saul
By second episode this was better than great, still laughing about the whole sticker situation lol - and the vibe is definitely within TBB territory! So yeah, this is great and I love the prospects on this show and will ofcourse stick with it!

Been catching up with the show and it's fantastic. This year's Fargo in terms of quality.

Yeah, I love the way it's paced, a real slow burner.
2020. Meh.

Re: Better Call Saul
Honestly I didn't expect less than an excellent show and with high hopes usually I end up disappointed , happily that wasn't the case here.

Re: Better Call Saul
I actually had low expectations. I didn't think how they could pull of a spinoff from Breaking Bad with Saul, so I expected a low effort comedy that tries to ride the popularity pony 'till it dies. But this... This is amazing.

Re: Better Call Saul
Yes and imagine if they go on long enough to bump into the Breaking Bad timeline and we get to see that all played out again but only from a Saul-centric perspective. Cranston and Paul have already said they would be willing to get involved. Hell they could continue that beyond the end of BB (and the opening scenes of BCS) to show the aftermath of BB (did Mr White really die? We never saw him in a body bag or morgue...). Even without all that, it is very well done.

Re: Better Call Saul
Peter Gold said that they can do preBB, BB and postBB, so they already are aware of that.

Re: Better Call Saul
I liked it. It does lack a bit of action and/or humour compared to BB. But I guess this one's geared more towards story telling.

Re: Better Call Saul
Yes it's different to BB, not as action packed, not as thrilling but it's great in its own way.
