Re: 6x07
Whoever died in the first episode. The ME guy.
Re: 6x07
This appears to be the final season for the show. I hope they at least wrap up the Red John arc.
Re: 6x07
My new theory is that Rigsby is Red John
Re: 6x07
They seem to be dragging this out, just get on with the story
Re: 6x07
Have we watched the same episode?
Re: 6x07
They never made it official on who Red John is. Based on people whose seen the episode next week wraps the storyline up.
Re: 6x07

I don't think it is Rigsby. I think it is Ray, the former CBI agent.
Will the show continue after Red John is identified? Or, will there still be a man hunt for him?
Re: 6x07
None of the characters have motive to be RJ...
...there's no reason for Bertram to be RJ as he seems to have no special interest in Patrick at all...

Re: 6x07
I thought Jane declared Bertram to be Red John as a way to smoke out the real Red John. He may even have anticipated the dissolution of CBI. The show has always about Jane seeing what few other do and devising a solution from that.
Re: 6x07
I don't think Bertram is Red John either. He seems sufficiently evil but as was mentioned before, doesn't seem motivated enough.
I seriously feel like I'm going to be disappointed by the identity as there are no characters that would fit in the role good.
Re: 6x07
What if Red John is Patricks wife?
Re: 6x07
I see now that GB-->RJ might be a deception.
However, I believe I read somewhere that the creators had said that Red John definitively was one of the seven, could anyone confirm this or am I mistaken here as well?

And despite the twists and tricks of the past, creator and executive producer Bruno Heller insists that one of the names on Jane's list is indeed his serial-killing nemesis.
Re: 6x07
Also the blind girl confirmed that Red John was male
Re: 6x07
I find it hard to believe that any of the people on the list could be so cunning as to bring people under his spell of devotion like Lorelei was...yet earlier in the show, it wasn't all these Blake nuts, but actual brainwashed followers that were the link to RJ. The Blake collective seems like it must be a side thing...not RJ's own organization...

Re: 6x07
The "association" explains why Red John has managed to remain at large for over a decade, despite being one of the most wanted criminals in the state.
Re: 6x07
I don't see any reason as to why RJ would expose his shoulder to the PI while he was killing her. Wouldn't it be more likely that a clever guy like RJ would have faked the tattoo and let the PI live long enough to tell about it as a ploy?
While it appear obvious that RJ is either a member or got close connections with the Blake Association, it does also appear that he got a bone to pick with them and use Patrick as his weapon of choice.
Deducing from how Partridge's possible tattoo was removed it would be likely that RJ or the Blake Association have someone in the morgue which would then conclude that either of the 3 people allegedly dying in the explosion that was identified with DNA could've been faked.
Out of the possible 3 that died, Haffner and Stiles were the only ones without the tattoo and if the tattoo was a ploy those would be the likely ones. Considering that Stiles is both too short and too old that would leave only Haffner.
If Haffner, it could explain his intention to destroy the Blake Association as it could be that there is some kind of feude between Visualize and it.
Re: 6x07
The next episode is entitled Red John so everything should be revealed (maybe the rest of the season will be about hunting him down?).
I am so sick of the Red John thing. I wish they would get back to real crime fighting!
This show used to be a favorite, but Red John is some tiresome.
Re: 6x07
Well, different people have different tastes. I usually don't like major story arcs in procedural shows, but in this case it was one of the reasons why I've started watching The Mentalist. Plus the show was about finding RJ right from the beginning and that's the only reason why Patrick joined the task force so it's not like they can spare only two or three episodes each season to tell the story.
Anyway we'll see tomorrow what happens... maybe they'll have to hunt him down or avenge someone's death, maybe they'll receive closure and resume their lives chasing other bad guys. Who knows.
Re: 6x07
I was thinking about the screen time that was dedicated to Stiles and his pending 'exit' from this realm...if he's not a critical piece, it seems it was sort of a waste of screen time. The red herring could have been pulled off with less screen time.
