Re: Season 1

Sorry if it's a stupid question - do you need to rewatch the Johnny Depp film first to understand the series? smile

Re: Season 1

No. The premise of the show is not really based on anything except there is a Sleepy Hollow town and Headless Rider.

The events take place in our times. Headless Rider kills people. He is Death - one of the 4 riders of Apocalypse. Released by bad witches. He was bound by good witches during Civil War just after he was beheaded by a soldier commanded by G. Washington himself. The soldier died with him but their blood connected and as soon as Rider was released, the soldier rose from his grave too. His mission is to prevent the Rider from getting his head back which would lead to apocalypse.

Ridiculous, innit?

Re: Season 1

It was lively and well executed. Worth a second look.

Re: Season 1

In this shows universe the story of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman doesn't exist so their will be no meta nods.

For me the 40min went by and I was never bored or bothered by the show so I will stick around and watch it. I don't find the story to be absurd at all since it works so far with the story their telling. I can watch any bizarre and weird show as long as it doesn't break it's own rules of logic.

Re: Season 1

Well it was only something that struck me while watching the trailer - anyhow episode was decent and the story is interesting enough - will definitely be tuning in for more!

Well, for me this story doesn't work that well (Death could be beheaded and without it can't bring apocalypse? really?! George Washington a paranormal researcher or witch hunter?) but I could ignore that if other things were good. However I found too many cliches and unoriginal characters.

So we have a good cop and she will pursue justice with our soldier from Civil War times. He will be a guy, who will put her through various messy situations. He will be the funny one (wasn't too funny in the first ep though). She will be the more responsible one. Everyone else will think she is crazy. In the meantime black witches will be scheming. You'll never know who they are, maybe close friends of the cop or her superiors. It's like we have seen it so many times.

Headless Rider using modern machine gun? I cringed - of course not against the rules but so not fitting ... why not get the nuclear bomb then, you are a Death after all...

I will watch second episode, maybe there will be something to change my mind.

You would have to be a proper retard to think that - or is just that you don't know how to follow a thread unless someone keeps all the quotes in theire statements?

Re: Season 1

The problem with casting stones at a mirror is that you only ruin the reflection of yourself.

1. You, latitude75, talked about WoW references and mentioned the headless horseman.
2. Someone said that the old Sleepy Hollow story came out long before WoW and it would be the other way around if anything.
3. You, latitude75, posts a link comfirming that the american legend of the headless horseman comes from that very same short story.
4. You, latitude75, says "Suck on that" which would seem to be like you saying that to yourself based on 1,2 and 3 on my little list. If you are sitting on more information please feel free to share and make it less confusing for poor fools like myself.
