Syfy Looking to Order The Almighty Johnsons Straight to Series

Looks like Syfy and Battlestar Galactica creator/executive producer Ron Moore might be green-lighting a US version of "The Almighty Johnsons". The US series is being produced by All3Media’s South Pacific Pictures with Chris Dingess writing the adaptation.

Re: The Almighty Johnsons

I was wondering how long it would take for the US to do a version of this show. Since its to much to ask to just show foreign shows here...

Yes.I am hoping there is a season 4. But, I would be satisfied with the season finale as a series finale.

Did you see

Spoiler

when Loki threw the red stone on the ground..Is that how they bring back the gods in season 4?

Re: The Almighty Johnsons

Yeah there just going to air the show over here in the states next year. There not remaking it.

The thing with Loki I think was just put there on that .01% chance it gets a season 4. The show was cancelled at the end of 2 and took fans to get season 3 made.

Maybe they are doing an "interest" level in the states..If Syfy gets good ratings for the airings of Season 1&2, then they'll air Season 3 while Syfy films Season 4?

Re: The Almighty Johnsons

It will be to long of a break between seasons to make it work I think.

Re: The Almighty Johnsons

The show revolves around the Johnson's family. The main focus is on Axel who on his 21st birthday learns he is the reincarnation of the Norse God Odin. The show is about his search to find his one true love Frig. There is no special effects that I can recall and it's just a dramedy really of mortals living with god powers.

And it is set in New Zealand in current times...
The storyline is good and so are the characters. (Although, Ty kind of annoyed me.)

tbh, it sounds like a boring chick flick.

What are the powers like?

Re: The Almighty Johnsons

It takes three seasons for his search of Frig to actually really start. It's mainly just a comedy with some drama.

Well there are five members of the Johnsons family. Axel (who is Odin and has many powers, but none that last more than episode), Anders (who is Bragi and his power is to get people to do what he wants. Mainly getting chicks to sleep with him), Ty (who is Hod the god of all that is dark and cold. He freezes everything around him), Mike (who is Ullr the god of the hunt and games. He can find anyone he thinks about and can't lose in anything ever) and lastly there is Olaf (Balder who can't age. So their Grandpa looks 30).

There's also goddess and the occasional run in with gods from another myth. Loki shows up at one point and can set everything around him on fire, and Thor is a crazy person.

The show is more a character show with powers thrown in every now and than. Its not a superhero show by any stretch.
