Topic: E3 - 2013
Anyone been following this years E3? If you haven't go http://www.youtube.com/user/Rev3Games here. I been mainly just following Rev3 because I've been a fan of Adam Sessler for over 10 years back when he was doing Extended Play on TechTv. Anyways on to E3. The main thing I have taken away from this is how much Microsoft keeps shooting themselves in the foot. Their is almost no reason to buy the system as of right now and even less if you live outside of the U.S. (The system is region locked and if you don't live in one of the 21 countries it's going to be sold in, the system will not work at all. Since you need to connect to the internet every 24 hours to make sure your games are legit and that the system is in one of those 21 countries.) Sony hasn't done anything to impressive on their own, but with the way Micrsoft keeps digging it's own grave it just looks so much better than it is. I will probably get a PS4 sometime soon after it's launch since the third party games of next gen look impressive. Is their any other console gamers on here, or is everyone pretty much a PC gamer?

Re: E3 - 2013
I'm definitely pre-buying xbox one!! Only bought my first console little over a year ago, the xbox slim starwars edition - before have been dedicated pc gamer. You can't top the pc on single player games but the consoles do shine in local multiplayer with many games. Have high hopes for this edition and MS may change theire policy down the line and give a patch for offline gaming (or some hackers defo will), who knows - not a deal breaker for me anyways. Also will probably buy PS4 down the line.

I'm definitely pre-buying xbox one!!
But why? Is there something about the xbox one that appeals to you so much more than the ps4 does? As far as I can tell, they offer all the same (necessary) features, and PS4 is cheaper. Are you sticking with xbox for xbox exclusive games or something? -Rob

I, too, am curious at what interests you in XBOX One (mind you, we are not critisizing, just asking).

Well, if someone doesn't care about the DRM's then you shouldn't be surprised that much, because imo Microsoft has shown more good exclusives than Sony.

Microsoft is Evil, be gone devil. i'm not putting a surveillance camera with mic in my living room, where Microsoft, hackers and NSA can watch and hear everything what i do. Not mentioning that they know exactly what i watch, when i watch it and for how long. What you can turn off the Cam and mic in the settings? As if that could stop Microsoft staff, hackers or NSA from listening in, if they want to.

Re: E3 - 2013
Well I got my ps3 a few months after they came out and it's still running just fine for me (It's one that can play ps2 games). Maybe I just got lucky though. The games that I'm looking forward to are, The Division, Watch Dogs, The Crew, Destiny, and The Withcer 3. I really like this idea of single player -> multiplayer happening seemingly.

Re: E3 - 2013
I got PS3 on day 1 and while it was expensive it has not failed, crashed, froze or even skipped once in 7 years so the cost over 7 years was well worth it. I got another PS3 slim later (won it at a stag) and while it hasn't completely crashed or yellow light'ed, I've have had way more problems with it than my day 1 PS3. I don't know if Sony cheaped out on quality to lower prices but i'm hoping first gen PS4's are as good as first gen PS3's quality wise.

Xbox One drops used games and online requirement policies Xbox One has changed its policies for used games and online connectivity for disc-based games. The console will no longer require to be online once every 24 hours, instead only needing an internet connection when initially setting up the system. Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Re: E3 - 2013
It looks like that Xbox One will have a better line-up of games for the console's premiere so it's not that surprising. If it were up to me I'd wait to see if Microsoft doesn't try to pull something off for the second time, is the console more reliable than the early 360's and are they're planning to release a non-Crapinect version.

Re: E3 - 2013
Really? I didn't find one XBONE exclusive to be appealing. Project Spark is the only one but that's coming for the computer so no point in it for me at least to get an XBOX in the first year. While PS4 only has one or two exclusives I'm interested in it's more than Microsoft so it helps make my decision for me.

Re: E3 - 2013
Flagship Xbox One launch title Forza Motorsport 5 – which will make extensive use of the console’s cloud capabilities and always-online functionality – will also be playable offline now that Microsoft has changed its policies. However, it will require a one-time connection to Xbox Live before you can play. In an interview with IGN, Dan Greenawalt, the studio head at Forza developer Turn 10 Studios, clarified how their day-one racing game will work if your Xbox One isn’t connected to Xbox Live. “So when you first boot up the game, we’re going to ask you to log in,” he explained. “And when you log in you’re going to get the Drivatars and you’re also going to get a whole bunch of content: tracks and cars. Our production schedule is such that we are putting them in as late as possible and that means making them free as downloadable content on Day One. “ We’re not making a launch game. We’re making Forza 5, at launch. “[But] that is required content to play the game. We basically have designed the game to work with all that content no matter how late is coming in, in order to make the biggest game possible.” In other words, because games have to be submitted to Microsoft testing, certified, and then pressed onto discs and shipped, Forza 5 has to be done much, much sooner than November. By requiring part of the game as a download on launch day, it gives Turn 10 extra time to finish everything. And so what you get on the disc you buy at the store won’t be the entire game. You’ll need to download the rest of it from Xbox Live (which should be possible to occur as you play, Greenawalt clarified). After that, Greenawalt said, Forza 5 is like your refrigerator. “You have to fill it up with food the first time,” he explained. “And from then on, you connect whenever you want when you want to update your food. The Drivatars are as fresh as they are. It’s not like they’re going to degrade, but when you’re looking for new stuff – fresh stuff…it’s going to keep evolving. That’s the nature of this Drivatar system.” “ When you first boot up the game, we’re going to ask you to log in. Drivatar is Forza 5’s attempt at next-generation AI in that there is no pre-programmed artificial intelligence. Instead, a ghost version of yourself races on your behalf, using your repeated behavior and tendencies to mimic how you’d race if you were actually playing. Drivatars of random gamers all over the world are what you race against in your single-player campaign. To that end, Greenawalt told us, “You do have to connect the game in order to get the latest Drivatars, because we need as many people training them as possible. And so rather than having just a launch-day set that was created by us, every day that people race is going to make the Drivatar set that much more accurate, that much more diverse, that much more interesting. “All of the cloud and online features make the game far, far better,” Greenawalt summed up. “In fact I’d even say revolutionary. The things we’re doing with opponents and Drivatar are not something that anyone can envision unless you’ve played it. But we’re trying to get as much of that into the unconnected, offline mode as well. “We’re not making a launch game. We’re making Forza 5, at launch.”
So basically Microsoft is still looking for a way to outsmart the gamers and prevent buying used games... what's stopping them from blocking the download of these "free day1 DLC's" on another console and another account? And without that you get a demo without a lot of cars and tracks. Not to mention that the game won't start without being connected to the Internet at least once (so that's two mandatory connections already ) and you'll have to download a large part of it on your own (another discrimination of people from countries with bad Internet connections).
