Topic: Awesome cinematography

Which scenes made you slowly clap your hands and wipe a single tear of joy from your cheek when you saw them because of absolutely stunning cinematography?

I never noticed the thing with the mirror last time I saw it, but that's really clever!

To continue with clever scenes, the beach scene in Atonement, one uninterrupted 5 minute steadycam shot, terribly beautiful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzXw0lSMPjc

(also, seersha isn't in this particular scene, but it's her best film so far i think.)

Atonement shots
Hanna shots

Re: Awesome cinematography

Recent Bond, Skyfall, was all kinds of gorgeous in terms of cinematography.
This Must Be The Place was pretty with one special scene being beautiful.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is fantastic in all the departments.
The Raid Redemption with its limited budget was able to show as a stunning set of visual little masterpieces.
The Artist for its heartwarming minimalism.
Moon, as far as I can remember, was also great in its minimalistic apporach to the subject.

If I think of more, I'll let you know.

Re: Awesome cinematography

I started watching it and I'm really impressed, and I have a huge dislike for japanese animation/style in general.

Re: Awesome cinematography

The opening few minutes of Lars Von Trier's "Melancholia" blows most of the previous stuff away.

That's the second biggest X I've ever seen.

nice shots.
i like the elevator one particularly.
which is your favourite?

have you seen stoker?

Re: Awesome cinematography

From the album it would be this and this, although with Drive there are a lot of beautiful shots that only work in motion, so captioning them was useless. Like with the lighthouse, mmm.

And I haven't, is it a goodie? smile
