In The Flesh

Set in the fictional village of Roarton (Lancashire, England) after The Rising, in which teenager Kieren Walker was re-animated along with thousands of people who died in the year 2009. There quickly followed 'The Pale Wars' in which the zombies were hunted and killed by armed bands of militia. After months of rehabilitation and medication, the zombies (now referred to as partially deceased syndrome (PDS) patients by the government, but pejoratively known as "rotters") are judged ready to return to society, their homes and families. They are given cosmetics and contact lenses, so they can 'pass,' and to conceal their partially deceased status. They must maintain a strict program of medication to avoid going "rabid" again, which is one injection a day.

Just watched the pilot and got to say its an interesting concept, there was an there was a haunting quality to the show (and nothing like the walking dead - not that is a bad thing in this case)

Re: In The Flesh

Just saw first episode, it was great! The colour scheme and the music, the dialogue and the tension between the boy and his sister. He's got deer eyes. In the good way. The pilot set up many things imho, and I will surely keep watching. Finding his way back, redemption, love, solace..

Re: In The Flesh

I enjoyed it too, certainly an original take on the whole zombie apocalypse theme.

That's the second biggest X I've ever seen.

Apples I knew you would like it  smile

Shame next episode isn't till next sunday  sad

Re: In The Flesh

Like it alot.

Its hard to explain exactly why just the feeling of being persecuted, hunted and having to be "hidden away" i am unfortunately familiar with. Pretty accurate description so far and i look forward for more

Re: In The Flesh

Yea, really enjoyed that, I'll be sure to tivo episode 2.

I've been trying to find the filming location because it looks very much like where I live in East Lancashire.

Re: In The Flesh

Episode 2 was good, some really funny lines from the female cast especially, not naming names to avoid spoilers.  Shame that its the last episode next week, part of me wants a season order from it, part of me think its been a good mini series and leave it like that

Re: In The Flesh

BBC Three today announced a new series commission for Dominic Mitchell’s drama, In The Flesh, following a successful three-part serial earlier this year.

//pr-bullshit//

In The Flesh will film later this year and transmit in 2014 on BBC Three.

Re: In The Flesh

Don't know. The premise didn't seem too interesting to me and I didn't see it (yet wink).

Re: In The Flesh

Watch the 1st episode and you should know whether you will like it or not.

I loved it personally, really good to see it's been commissioned for a series.

Re: In The Flesh

Me too, I thought it was a really original take on the current wave of Zombie-everything.

But watch one and decide for yourself.

That's the second biggest X I've ever seen.
