Meh, it was still pretty bad...every chance they get to make the characters emotional, soft, and not themselves, they take it. If there wasn't 3 seasons of them being totally different, it might be okay...but the forced character changes are a tough pill to swallow. Jeff opening up about his upbringing/family in each of the first 3 episodes of S4? That's not Jeff...he doesn't do that...

They're trying to make all the characters lovable...instead of just the characters that are supposed to be lovable...which ultimately just seems to diffuse the lovability of the lovable characters and reduce the interestingness of the show's dynamic, dramatically.
