I think I figured out what's been off about this season to me. The first three seasons everything to do with Elena was the A story and all the other things that were happening was the B and C story. This season Elena is no longer the focus of the A story which is what led to the episodes feeling off to me. While this season to me has been disappointing since I think they could of done a much better job of Elena turning I did enjoy the episode.
