Topic: Chicago Fire
Chicago Fire
Anyone seen this yet? Just saw the pilot, it looks promising i think. I have always been a bit intressted about being a fire fighter so a show about it is nice. Got some interesting characters and some action going on in it.

Re: Chicago Fire
Probably won't check it out but the reviews I saw said it's a weak version to Rescue Me.

Re: Chicago Fire
Unoriginality is the biggest flaw here. The cast was ok (I really liked Eamonn Walker, but that's nothing new, I like him everywhere), but everything was borrowed from somewhere else. And not least from Rescue Me (death of a crew member, giving hard time to the noob, rivalry with the police department...). Also it kinda felt like they hire their firemen from a modeling agency, but that's nothing new.

Re: Chicago Fire
Well giving a hard time to the rookie and rivalry with the police department is reality. I know because I know people who are firemen.

Re: Chicago Fire
I might get around to watching the first 2 Episodes of this today... As i've never seen Rescue Me, it'll be mostly new to me i hope. Just a quick question: Is this more a "1 incident/fire a week" kind of show or a developing story kind of show like maybe "Breaking Bad" or "Sons of Anarchy"? Just so I know what to expect

Re: Chicago Fire
I don't know exactly what you mean, but there is character development and that's enough for me. Personally I connect with the characters. I don't really understand some of the bad reviews, maybe because people compare it to that other show I never watched.

So, a second season and a spinoff. Is it worth it?

Re: Chicago Fire
My problem with the show is every time it gets interesting they throw in a dumb storyline that ruins it. The drug and rape storyline are just aggravating, which doesn't make for good TV.

Yeah didn't like the rape story, was just daft tbh I just don't ever see Severide as a rapist! (I know she lied but it just wasn't even the slightest bit believable)

Re: Chicago Fire
The problem is theirs a few story lines that really drag the show down with it. I still haven't seen the last 4 episodes after how the one ended with Severide.
