The Mob Doctor

A young thoracic surgeon becomes indebted to the South Chicago mafia and is forced to moonlight as a mob doctor, while also working full time at Chicago's most prominent hospital.

I quite liked the pilot. Maybe it was because I had low expectations because of the imdb score. But the show has a good cast, and the story isn't half bad.

The series premiere of  The Mob Doctor scored  a low  1.5 among adults 18-49 down 51% from a 3.1 for the two hour series premiere of Terra Nova  in the time period on September 26, 2011.

One down, many more to go.

Those numbers are Friday night numbers, the fact it only got 5mil on a Monday with it's competition being repeats and The Voice it's not looking good. While I didn't care for the pilot I still would like to see it get at least a full season order. No one ever benfits from a show being cancelled mid way through it's first season. Shows need time for the writers to find a groove. I will never get how it makes sense to pull shows two-five episode into their run, yet every year it happens time and again.

Well, it doesn't necessarily mean that it will be pulled from the schedule, because all Monday shows have suffered severely vs last years numbers. For example, Hawaii Five-O got only 1.9 rating and last year it was 3.4. My guess is that Mob Doctor will have a full but short season (~13 eps).
