The actor who plays Alaric is in a new show...assuming it gets picked up to series so I doubt he will live long. I see Klaus coming back next year as some twist to stopping the new big bad...who ever it will be.
Last years episode 21 was so much better than this episode.

And his new series "Cult" was indeed picked up to series
But this will not be the last we've seen Alaric. He'll pop up like a ghost or in flashbacks for sure
