It is, just like Pan Am and The Playboy Club, and only one of those was good.

Well it's on Starz so it's bound to have something Pan Am and Playboy Club lacked, boobs and violence! Just because it's set in a certain era doesn't mean it's a Mad Men clone. As you wouldn't call Spartacus the clone of Rome. With Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the lead, I think it deserves a fair shot before labeling it as a rip off. And yes I agree that these kinds of shows would not have been greenlit without Mad Men.
Downloading the first ep currently, will voice an opinion later in the evening. I gotta do some cleaning now...

Just finished watching it 10 seconds ago. I liked it. Way way better than Playboy Club. Though I cannot compare it to Mad Men which is the most obvious comparison. The Miami backdrop worked wonderfully and gave the show a unique tone. It did feel a bit stereotypical at some points (especially the Mobsters) but Jeffrey Dean Morgan played his part well. Oh and yes there was boobage for those interested.
I will definitely tune in next week too, maybe then I can compare it to Mad Men if I have the time to start watching it by then...

First ep wasn't too bad. I'll give it a few see how it pans out.
The 'boobage' that mclame refers to isn't anything really.
DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom".

I actually like it a lot. I thought it was going to be too slow, but the story keeps drawing me in.

Just finished ep. 7. I really like this show n' im glad it's renewed. Jeffrey Dean Morgan at his best. You guys should give this show a chance, it gets better after 2-3 episodes imho. Let's see what happens today @ season finale.
