Guy on tv discussion forum: "Quit complaining everyone, it's just a tv show! If you don't like it, don't watch it."

Other guy on tv discussion forum: "sounds like you put about as much thought into things as a writer for The Walking Dead".

Re: 2x01

General conclusion: less bitchin', more creative thinking. I'd rather talk about possible story arcs, characters and settings than complain about how someone could have done something better.  People have reality TV for that.

other guy on tv forum: *waits for first guy to say something about one of those things instead of complaining* *facepalm*

We are already all dead. We just don't know about it yet.

Re: 2x01

Some have probably mentioned these things already, but I just watched it and need to vent.

First off (Rob said this on page 1, didn't read further) the zombies can no longer smell? How did they know this? In season 1 they covered themselves with zombie gore to meld in.

Secondly, why isn't the virus contageous anymore? In season 1 they had to be careful not to get zombie gore in bodily crevasces. The blond chick got zombiegore in her eyes, mouth and nose, while the black guy had a zombie lying on top of his open flesh wound?

Then there's all the religious involvement in the episode, even from the main character that says "he doesn't believe", but still say prayers.

And fourth, the god damn ending, when they find that Deer or whatever it was. Why not shoot it and get 200lbs of meat for the group, instead of letting the boy have a "magical moment", inevitably leading to the animal running away before he could even touch it.

It's retarded, and it's bad writing. No one would be acting like this if they were fighting for the survival of the human race. Love triangle, chasing after a kid in the forest, not watching season 1 before making decisions, whining about graverobbery. Oh, and how didn't the old guy see the zombies coming from the top of his van? First shot there was one, second shot there were two, third shot there were about a hundred, thirty feet away.

Re: 2x01

I guess in season 1 they covered themselves in guts to walk around zombies , this time they were "hidden". Or maybe this horde were not Alpha Zombies  lol

lol, all that ranting and no thinking... in season 1 ep 1 the zombies didn't smell them inside the house - so no inconsistencies there actually.

the mechanics of the virus hasn't been fully understood by the characters nor fully informed to the viewer, so no inconsistencies there either

not even touching the religious comment

i thought they wanted the kid to shoot the deer, he's got to learn hunting sometime...

and the little thing about not seeing the zombies with the binoculars - well that particular flaw can be found in every single tv show and movie ever made - the same type of flaw - so why should the Walking Dead be the exception?

PS. every single complaint i've read on this thread is just fishing... your just fishing for flaws and something to complain about... honestly this whole forum has turned into complaint fest, and i'm tired of it...

Walking Dead is a better show than 99% of the crap you all have on your watchlists - i'm so tired of this forum... idiots complaining about nothing... how stupid is that? how stupid am i for still hanging around here and commenting on your stupid comments... enough is enough said the german metal band Rage...

PPS. how do i delete my account?

what doesn't kill you - hurts even more...

Re: 2x01

Yeah, and it's healthy to praise and defend the show only because there's currently nothing similiar around and it's aired by the station known mostly for good shows.

Re: 2x01

cool ranting here. i take a day off and this happens without me. how cool.
obviously this ranting is good for the forums. i see new people discussing about shows. this can mean only good things. new people, new opinions. awesome.

a question to Hr. Ulottuvuus.
What was so awesome about this show that you feel we are too critical? i can think only zombie makeup. yes this is well done. other than this i got nothing.

I saw this at Reddit. It contains Walking Dead spoilers for episode 201, but pretty much covers all the things I thought were horribly, horribly wrong with the episode.

and some people say we bitch too much tongue

Re: 2x01

I've got to agree with Hr. Ulottuvuus. If you think the show is so poor, stop watching the damn thing...oh then you will have nothing to complain about....

67

Re: 2x01

Is seeing room for improvement the same as complaining? Even if I'm entertained, there's a lot that sucked...must we all be one-dimensional? like it or leave it?

Complaining about complainers is funny...

...if you don't like the discussion, why are you participating in it? seriously...

Re: 2x01

I'm participating beacuse I enjoy the show and come to the forum dedicated to the show to chat about it and find its over run by whinging.

To quote an earlier comment on the show:

"cheap drama, flawed writing and sometimes awful acting"

You consider that someone merely seeing room for improvement? I call it whinging...maybe your just more tolerant than me.

Re: 2x01

How much fun would it be if all we could see were praising comments. Seriously, think about it a thread only full of "AWESOME EPISODE!" "+1" "+1" "+1" "+1" "+1".

And yes I think Hr Ulottuvuus already explained most of the stuff regarded as plot holes but denying discussion on those parts would be idiotic. As I said earlier this kind of banter of tv-shows is why I personally signed up on the forums.

Regarding not shooting the deer, they would have had to cook it straight away and cooking a deer that big would take ages. I was under the impression that they were on the move and thus didn't have time to cook it. The meat would go bad really fast so there was no need to kill the deer. Dale is an experienced hunter so I guess food isn't a big problem for them.

As for the zombie horde surprising them, yes it was badly done and I guess they sacrificed alot of sensibility to make the scene "look cool". But I think the reason Dale didn't see the horde was that he was looking at the wrong direction (ahead when the zombies came from behind). This could have easily been fixed with the zombies coming from the woods.

So yes the show is flawed and I enjoy reading discussion about it but I still enjoy it very much and I'm willing to give it some more slack than I usually do because I want to see cool zombie kills.

Re: 2x01

you guys to realize that saying "you blame the show too much" you generate more bashing of the show.. if you would ignore people who like to bash the shows they are watching, then they will do their little bashing and move on to another topic until the next episode. and with another topic they may talk about what will happen in the next episode, maybe even discuss similarities to the comics.. if anyone had read them.

72

Re: 2x01

I'm actually reading the comics right now (20 issues done in one day) and now I'm interested what they will do in 2x02. smile And yes, if we were to be leaved alone, this topic wouldn't get 70 posts and everyone would be happy. Or not.

not to point fingers at anyone but the negative vibe this thread got i think is from one of the early posts

dear lord. what the frak was this? this was the shit with new writers?
i mean ... uhh... even terra nova and falling skies are masterpieces next this this shit.
1 hour of yet another family drama with 30 minutes of looking for a girl. ohhh god... if this is a future of television, then iQuit!

Im not saying this episode was perfect, it had a lot of flaws, but so does most of the tv shows and movies, especially when they are about zombies/vampires or things like that, and many shows never get as critiziced as some do. If you look for flaws your going to find it in pretty much everything you watch.
