Have to agree with you with this episode. After watching and reading the other posts i thought maybe its only me who didnt like it but i am relieved that i am not alone.
It seemed to me more like a hour long webisode for a journal than a second season premiere for a post-apocalyptic zombie show.

what pissed me off most was that the writers from season 1 were fired and season 2 was supposed to be so much better. So i had high expectations. and what I saw. Nothing had changed. this same slow whining dullness...

Some parts I liked some parts I didn't what I figure is that with a small group like this it's not much dying that can go around. So lets see what happens next few episodes if they can get into a larger group or something we can have more human vs zombie 
You have to remember they need to pickup from where they left off.

Well, it still suffers from logical errors and too much badly written drama, but watching it in synch with pals can be hilarious. XD Let's give them an episode or two to get on the right track.

I liked the episode very much. OK, did not like little girl searchy thingy either, but it shows many of the complications with leaving someone behind. This may not be new or original to you veterans, but to a lot of people it isn't.
This show gets wayyyy too much bitching for such a unique setting.

i know i might sound like a perv, but if that girl would have been lets say 5 years older, then i would understand them searching for her. for a female being in the breeding (sorry for using this word, but it is a hard reality in zombie apocalypse) age, is the most valuable asset.

I find it really dumb how there are so many vehicles just stopped in the middle of the highway...some even flipped over? and in some of them, with the windows rolled up, there are dead zombies inside...what happened there? did the guy with all those knives get bit, then hop in his truck and put on his seatbelt where he proceeded to die instead of turn into a zombie?
...and of course, the zombies in this episode don't have the same sense of smell...all walked right by the group...unlike previous zombies that required the group to be covered in guts if they wanted to pass by...
...decent acting, terrible writing, cool general setting...but lame sets that make no sense according to the plot...
...somehow I still don't mind watching the show...but seriously, it took a whole team of writers to come up with this? A bunch of highschool kids could've come up with something more coherent and engaging.
...the character development is really what's supposed to drive something like this...but even that wasn't done very well...the acting saved the episode from its lack of real development...

in apocalypse world there would be need for women and a little girl is also a women.. as i haven't seen this episode yet, watched QI instead, so don't know how old the girl was, but like Godzi said, in 5 years she would be in potential mom. (and if you can't keep a girl alive for five years, why bother to have any kids (because toddlers are so much easier to keep alive*sarcasm*) ... and why hope for repopulating the world)

perhapse he turned into a zombie but wasn´t able to free him self from the seatbelt and starved to death again

Yeah rob also had a few question marks with the horde passing. The people in the cars though could be people that freaked out (and just drove into whatever) and the one with the knives i think he was just dead not zombie? could be that he chose not to get eaten and died in his car in some way. Anyhow no major wounds visible or blood dont think he turned
Oh, and if they start having children im out. Random crying, when giving birth increased chance of dying, mother needs rest after. Theres loads of reasons not to make one, maybe in a few safe places but overall its anti-survival, wouldnt be a solid investment
I dont think they starve? 28 days later zombies starved but these?

A downer episode for me.
Why do children always have to be in the way? Seems like that's their main purpose on camera, with few exceptions.

well where my mind was going is that why carry dead weight with you for 5 years, feed her and then hope she will be alive by that time for her to start reproducing.
and yes you have a point that toddlers are very hard to keep alive in this kind of world.
well it's just my thinking.
and what has been mentioned here. i also find it odd that those zombies do not starve to death. apparently they do not need food to stay alive.
if i am not mistaken, the cop was in the hospital for 40 days?
