Topic: SKY Screws up

SKY screwed up BIG time tonight.
The episode (s10e12.Bounty) advertised/scheduled was not shown instead they aired episode s10e14.Line.In.The.Sand. This was not a production number versus episode number screw-up as happened with Atlantis but an airing error as the lack of continuity from episode s10e11.The.Quest.part2 was obvious within the first few seconds.

Re: SKY Screws up

Broadcasting mix up doesn't seem right, especially as according to this site it says the episode on 16h Jan should be "Line in the Sand".

Re: SKY Screws up

Got me thinking now as TV.com lists Bounty as episode 12 but Gateworld lists Line In The Sand as episode 12 and Bounty as 15.
I'll stick to my guns on the continuity issue as at the end of 11 Daniel is taken but in Line in the Sand he isnt even mentioned.

Re: SKY Screws up

But surely if he wasn't back in E15 he'd still be at least mentioned as well?

Also did they have a "previously on Stargate SG-1"? Because if they had that and shown unbroadcasted footage then you would know otherwise I think it's just the way it goes...

Re: SKY Screws up

Wow! All this confusion, this is certainly one way to stop me from downloading, I didn't even realise s10e11 had been aired.

An intelligent man knows lots of complicated words, a wise man knows not to use them.

Re: SKY Screws up

He was mentioned in one of the conversations between Cam and Sam.  Cam was saying something about now wanting to lose Sam like they lost Daniel.

I know what you mean KB but it was just a passing mention, you'd have expected more of a discussion.

Re: SKY Screws up

this episode fitten in for me, and I trust the gateworld site. So yea it fits in here, and if it didnt theres nothing ruined by showing it here. Except if they have an episode on where and how they made the device. Because its not the one Daniel/Merlin made was it?

The amount of times Daniel has gone missing/died/been kidnapped it doesnt really warrent a convertation. The last time or the time before that, carter said something about Daniel being missing. O'niel just brushed it off saying he will be back.

Re: SKY Screws up

After having watched it, it seems to fit in fine, but I will say they kinda jumped in with the anti-ori "weapon"...

And as for Daniel, I think they think he's dead as Cam says something about "we've already lost Jackson".

Re: SKY Screws up

This episode definately fits. The device they have is not the anti-ori weapon. It is the device shown in season 9 which they turn on and makes Cam and Sam disappear or phase shift. It is the device Merlin created to hide his research.
I though this was a pretty good episode.

Re: SKY Screws up

Ah I thought it looked familiar. It's just Sam kept going on about not letting it get into Ori hands cause it was too important, so that lead me to believe that it was that weapon roll

You are absolutely right this is the one - maybe they should have a short "previously on.." intro... unless it was cut in the cap..." to job our memories but you now did. Thanks.

The short reference to Daniel could be that yeah they have no idea what did happen to him... but only seeing the rest of the episodes will tell us with 100% if it was indeed supposed to broadcast now or later on... but again as it was said I do not think it ruined anything in the sequence of facts.

also god news on the futoncritic.com is that they are going to produce two movies one to finish the Ori arc the other on time travel.

Re: SKY Screws up

oh turk you complete WANK!

and woo just clicked what that phasing device is lol, finally. Brought it back after such a long gap didnt remember it was the one that took daniel out of phase!

I thought he wasnt supposed to be back till episode 15

http://www.gateworld.net/sg1/s10/index.shtml read that before you start saying what the episodes are meant to be.

The one you described is next weeks, in future dont post plot line spoilers without warnings.

Gateworld is more reliable than TV.com

Re: SKY Screws up

according to the ones who watched the latest episodes it seems that yes the last two are not in the correct sequence. I will watch it tonight and will see...

18

Re: SKY Screws up

ive watched them, and the order is fine. They even mentioned daniel in todays episode. It was a fine continuation from last weeks episode. No issues what so ever. As I said previously they dont pay much attention to Daniel dissapearing anymore.

Before I go into it I must say what a great décolleté on Amanda....

I watched it too but I tend to disagree with you... I think this one comes before the one of last week.

This below slightly edited from another site pretty much reflects my thinking and avoids me to rewrite it....

If in last weeks episode Sam could make a building disappear why in this weeks is she back to making the contents of a room disappear, the episode the Road not taken is clearly referenced at the very beginning of Line in the Sand by Cam Mitchell.

Last week, Sam tested it on a building before moving to something
much larger. Yet this week she is experimenting on something much smaller(her lab) although she does say she is trying to get the device to effect much larger things I still think she is referring to moving up to a building because she hasn't done that yet, it is only when she gets sucked into the other dimension and the Ori threat becomes apparent as well as the amount of power that the US can provide that she tries it on the earth, that is not her original experiment.

If Sam and Cam had managed to hide from a prior in that building then why in
the next episode is Sam suddenly trying to figure out how it works. I mean in the line in the sand she states that the only difference between small and large things is the power requirement.

Also check out Cam Mitchell first line in the episode Line in the Sand, and
tell me that it isn't odd, unless of course he knows Sam has already hidden a
planet.

I think I am right, i could be wrong anyway they were both good episodes. I guess well see what order they air in the US, oh and by the way just as an aside I really don't trust sky as they quite often air things in the wrong order...

The last 2 episodes have defintely been in order. In the first episode, they make just a building disappear but seem to have some issues witht he power.

In the last episode she says she has been working on clearing up some issues and that she is experimenting on adding a force field so that when she does make something disappear, no one will accidently walk into that area. That way a building doesn't get dropped onto someone outside the affected area who then walks into it etc. That is why she was experimenting in a little room, it was to test the use of the force field.

Also, in the first episode, she had a hard enough time trying to make a little village disappear, yet in the last episode she is able to make an entire planet disappear.

If you rewatch the last episode, you will realise this.
