Topic: 1x03 - Lord Snow
Well this show is superb and awesome. and it still goes according to the book. and imo this episode was better than #2 as for the speed of how things went. To whine a bit, they still show too much Daenerys (in this episode not that much) and too little Robb Stark who will play much bigger role and is much more important. But this episode they did not jump from one character to another that fast as previous so people who have not read the book will learn a bit more about them.

I felt this was more of a filler but I still think it's awesome. But like you say alot more introductions on a deeper level. Can they keep this coming I will finally have something in pair with BSG to follow in the present

Weeeeeee, Littlefinger. And even in my wildest dreams I couldn't imagine Arya's 'dance' master as good as he is here. 10/10 on casting.

Re: 1x03 - Lord Snow
I haven't read the book (yes I know ) so a couple of things need clearing up. (I don't know most of the names so bare with me) first, the 2 that were messing around in the tower at the end of ep 1, and pushed the kid off the edge, aren't they related? (at first I thought siblings but now I'm thinking cousins) second, the blond girl who married dread-locked Conan, at first she was totally against it then at like the flick of a switch she loves it. What got me was that it seemed to happen mid-fuck during ep 2, what happened, did he manage to hit the g-spot or something? .. lol. Was this strange to anyone else?

Yes they are. Cersei and Jaime.

She's doing it, because her brother told her to do it. And no one want to wake up the dragon.

..and to be more exact, Cersei and Jamie are siblings. As for the sudden change in Daenerys, I think it is mainly because she wants to be a good wife and make the best out of it. And I think she wants to get away from her brother, although she feels very loyal to him.

brother and sister. and she started to enjoy it yes after her slaves taught her the act of love. she was 13 so she did not belive that much in dragons. her brother only forced her to marry.

Re: 1x03 - Lord Snow
This episode seemed slow paced in comparison with the previous two (to a person that didn't read the book), but I don't mind and I liked it. The fight master at the end has quickly became one of my favorite characters on the show. Too bad there weren't any wolfies this time around.

Re: 1x03 - Lord Snow
I dont know if i like the casting for the spider at this time. Didnt get the creepy feeling i got from him in the book. Will give him a chance though. Jamie and Cersei who messed about in the tower in episode 1 are twins. My theory about Daenerys change of heart towards her husband is that she managed to get him to show a sweet side. Step one was the scene where she convinced him to make love face to face. Before that he had only been rough and hadnt showed any kindness. After that scene she fell in love with his kindness. That was strengthened in episode 3 when they are laying down almost being sweet with eachother. Something that the dothraki are not known for. Tyrion was amazing again. His scenes was very good and the subtle guidance of Jon Snow to help him become a leader of the other new recruits was very well written. My favourite scene was with the dance master Cyrio. Perfect casting. Arya is doing a very good job too and she has done her job as the whiny little sister very well so far and today she showed her acting ability and her dedication to the role when she was with Cyrio. I was very impressed.

I get the whole "good wife" thing, my question or more of a confusion is what made her switch from intense crying to sudden happiness during sex at an instance. does it have something to do with the dragon eggs?

Probably because she didn't want to be miserable! And as GodZi pointed out, she learned how to "make love" by one of her slaves. After that, the sex wasn't that bad! Also, which wasn't in the episode but in the book, ▼Spoiler is that she did want to have sex with him the first time after they got married. In the series he took her hard and brutally, in the book he caressed her and made her horny so to speak

Loving the hell out of this show. Jamie is a great cast, the lord Stark I imagined in my head while reading the books is beginning to look more and more like Boromir Also, Tyrion is a fuckyea character. I didn't like him that much in the book as for me there was too much of him but he is coming on in right doses now. Biggest miscasts to date seem to be Catelyn and Cersei. Even Robert Baratheon proved himself when Mark Addy had his scene about first kills. And Dany can be featured for as much as she wants, she is really hawt.

i think thats a good idea, i find it rather anoying when every post in the "episode" thread is about how it compares too the book.

Please add wolves to the chart, because I don't remember their names and I keep confusing them.

Hehe, not surprised that Arya got her own category! As for the name of the dire wolves: Robb's = Grey Wind Sansa's = Lady Arya's = Nymeria Bran's = Summer Rickon's = Shaggydog Jon's = Ghost

Thanks. Btw, does anyone know if Nymeria will return somewhere/somehow later in the series? Did the scene near the river happened in the book as well?

It did, yes. I have only read half the book, so I can't say. She hasn't so far.

Jamie Lannister pure evil? Bitch, please. His addition to POV characters in the book was one of the best moves GRRM made. I agree there are some very select black and white characters in the book but he is not one of them.

Yep, this is a post about the series, not the book. And so far he goes into the (pure) evil category. There is a seperate post about the series vs. the books.
