Just starting season two, my aim to get them watched before the new ones start in 6 months.
I have to watch 7 days, 9 hours more to watch worth of aired episodes plus the movies smile

Re: The X-Files

So what did you guys and gals think about the opening episode?

...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Re: The X-Files

i liked it. going in a different direction. could be good. Although, there were no real answers, so you don't know if in the end it will be a different direction.

Re: The X-Files

i dont know what to think honestly. There was alot going on in the first episode. The nostalgia is pretty great but is it just me, or has David D`s acting skills gone to shits? I admit its been a long time since i watched xfiles (with german dubbing) but i do feel his acting was...well better.

Anyway i feel that subsequent episodes should be much slower paced. Which could work out for the best since as i said, too much happend in EP1.

Re: The X-Files

I enjoyed it, It wasn't fantastic but I did get goosebumps when the theme tune kicked in smile

Also I had no idea it was out so soon (and I didn't have it in my watchlist as it's WELL OLD!!!)
so yet again this forum saves the day, gg

Re: The X-Files

I loved that they used the original opening credits, talk about bringing back memories.

I enjoyed it but damn it was straight back into the really heavy x-filesesque concepts (clandestine global conspiracies and population manipulation using alien technology) ....no warmup with this one, just straight back into it..... I guess they only have 6 episodes so we won't be getting much beating around the bush.

Re: The X-Files

Just meh for me.  It started off OK, but then the big speech in the woman's house lost it for me.
I think I'll leave this one alone

Re: The X-Files

I was a pretty big fan at one time, and then last year when I heard about the new x-files I watched all 9 of the original seasons again and by the last season it was pretty hard to get through. By the end the show was kind of a parody of itself and the series finale was mostly a phone it in flashback episode. There were a lot of good episodes but they were primarily in the first 7 or so seasons, and I think everyone hoped the reins were being picked up with the goal finally giving the show the strong finish it deserved.

So far based on the first episode we have no such luck. Once again they're contradicting the things they've already explained and are really doing a horrible job of even honoring the characters. Mulder is ready to flip his whole opinion of a subject he's been obsessed by for his entire life because he sees an ARV and hears a story. Nevermind that he's known for more than 20 years that the government has been doing exactly what he's now so shocked to hear about (multiple episodes involved military use of alien crafts or technology), or that he has first hand experience with aliens and hybrids (remember the mind reading hybrid chessplayer kid that was his proof?).

Then Skully the religious skeptic even though she dug up a spaceship covered with carvings of all of the worlds religious texts and had her own first hand experiences with aliens, abductions, etc. is convinced based on a test she never thought to run in the 20 years of being a doctor since her abduction.

The episode was crap before the acting is even considered. Then to top it off, at the end you hear that the smoking man has either been cloned, or somehow survived the explosion in the last 7 minutes of the series finale where we saw his face melt off of his skull.

I definitely do not intend to watch another episode.
