Best new show this fall so far! Still looking forward to American Horror Story and The River though.

Re: Homeland (1x01 - 1x08)
Hm, the pilot was very good, but I can't see how this can go for more than a few strong episodes. There's just not enough story... unless of course the screenwriters will come up with some crazy unexpected ideas.

Re: Homeland (1x01 - 1x08)
Agreed, a great first episode. I like the tension build-up and having a mentally unstable main character is just great. ▼Spoiler I think it's too bad though they revealed that Damien Lewis' character is working for the terrorists in the first episode already. Yes, I know that him doing that motion with his hands in ambiguous. I know it doesn't mean he's communicating with anybody or that the person he's communicating with is the main terrorist bad guy. And it also doesn't mean that he beat the other soldier he was captured with to death voluntarily and not to save his life. And I understand that the pilot episode needed a victory for the main character to avert her dire fate. But I can't help but feel that the writers wrote themselves into a corner with the main character's actions, got her into too much trouble, and therefore needed a big win to get her out of it. And the reveal felt like too much too soon. I would have much preferred to guess whether or not Damien Lewis' character is a traitor or not. In fact, that is what I believed the show would be about. The ambiguity would have been great at creating tension, but now it's almost completely gone. But then again, why was I expecting subtlety and ambiguity from one of the guys who created 24? On a different, and very chauvinistic note, 2011 was just a splendid year for celebrity on-screen nudity. First we get Emmy Rossum naked for what seems like most of her screen time and for no apparent reason in the US-remake of Shameless and now we get Morena Baccarin ... Whew!

Re: Homeland (1x01 - 1x08)
As for the 2nd episode, the overall pace seems to be rather slow. I'd wish things progressed a little faster (not necessarily with the main character, but with the entire show). But I won't complain... the last two scenes of the episode is enough to keep me interested.

Re: Homeland (1x01 - 1x08)
▼Spoiler i kinda khew he converted when in the first episode his wife told him "what about we take this wine?" his body language gave it off. the prayer part in the second episode is half accurate, and the scene where he was in captivity the guys who were praying were kinda doing speed praying lol and they just kept repeating "allah akbar" which is like 10% of the words you say in a prayer, also the one who turned his head to look at him shoulden't be doing that if he was realy praying I have a feeling that he will still not turn out to be a terrorist at the end. Good show though, even though i previously said i won't watch it.

Amen to that. Life was one of the best shows of the past 5 years. And agreed about the ending "twists" - I hope his character's storyline won't be as predictable as it seems right now ...

Re: Homeland (1x01 - 1x08)
Hm, I don't know what to think of the ending of episode 4. Carrie acted very, hm, human.. trying to cope with not "being" in Nicholas's life anymore. But at the same IMO she compromised her investigation since he knows who she is and what kind of work she's doing.

Yeah but that's because she realized how "paranoid" she was when everytime she watches him doesn't get anything out of it. That's why she didn't care at all afterwards. imo. Since it's realy illegal what she was doing anyway you can't call it an investigation more than a side thing going on.

I kinda liked it, her investigation kinda ended she had no way to know what he was up to as there was no longer any surveillance. And because she is so determined and convinced that he is a sleeper terrorist this is the only way for her to continue the investigation. And what we have seen of her character she is willing to do pretty much anything to continue with this investigation, i was kinda amazed she didn't plant a secret cam in the shed when they had to remove the camera's.

Yeah, I'd also place a secret cam in the shed if I was in her shoes. In fact, I'd do it asap after finding out that the surveillance guys didn't plant it there (2nd episode).
