imo this epsiode was more of a filler than previous awesome ones, but it was cool to see McKay again

So now Destiny can even quantify love? The Ancients must have had great marriages - before you get married just make sure both people love each other, done, no divorces. C'mon!
I liked the whole takeover idea, it had balls and that was fun. Too bad that can't be said about the Rush story. Even if they went with a retarded reason why he was caught, I liked the story even though it is very overused (you wake up from a virtual reality thinking you're back when in fact you are still in it), but it needed a real sacrifice at the end. Eli should have had to delete both programs, forever, irreparably. This way they will find a way to get them out of quarantine and everybody will be happy.
Decisions need to have consequences, yet SGU treats its decisions and mistakes in a very bi-polar fashion: sometimes we are euthanasing crew members, but god forbid we delete two programs ...

While this is true I guess the whole idea itself was just to bring back some nice looking characters back to the crew and there would be no point to bring back some characters just to kill/delete them again.
As we know by know it's always better to have good looking babes in a sci-fi show than nerdy scientists. Those two characters/programs could've made a difference in many evolving story lines.
But yes - now SGU is cancelled it would've been better to just delete those progs. But the writers didn't know the sudden death of the show at the time of writing

Anyone who know exactly when they got the news about the cancelation? I'm hoping they were told before shooting the last episodes.

I dunno - but it was kinda late - so there is a good chance all episodes were produced at that time - maybe just in the last episode they changed the very ending to an unsatisfied ending
