Topic: 4x12 (Spoilers)

Well, here we are. The season ends with a whimper, not a bang. But then again all season's can't end like season 4 with a "Rocket Men"-fueled twist. Too bad the highlight of the season was episode 4, "Monkey Business," and it's been going downhill since then. The dinner tried too hard to be crazy and edgy and I honestly don't know what the last 5 minutes were supposed to be about.

I guess now that they've dealt with the big event they set up in the first episode of the first season that has been the driving force behind everything that has been happening ever since it is time for them to come up with something new. So count me as intrigued by where they gonna take it in season 5 ...

I think that he just went to be with Karen and Becca. A nice transition with the road, btw.

I strongly believe, that in S05 Hank will violate his parole somehow and we will be again in the "oops I'm fucked" situation.

This felt like a last episode of the show... I was half scared that californication had been cancelled without me knowing about it..

With me on the watch, no wai. I'm like a Vampire Slayer, when it comes to tv news.

I felt the same way. Luckily Google quickly dispelled the notion.

I disagree, mainly because of the scene where a stranger in a black Porsche pulls up at the gas station and both Karen and Becca expect it to be Hank, but it isn't. Hank's Porsche was also loaded with all his belongings (typewriter, etc.) so I suspect he's actually "moving on" (which is what the last montage was about), and next season will be about him alone in New York. Karen and Becca might return towards the end of the season, but I feel like the last three or four episodes labored very hard to make it clear that Hank and Karen are over, forever. So I suspect Karen and Becca will still play a role, but a much smaller one in the coming season(s) than they had before.

Yeah, that's why I was only half scared... But you do remember that time with the alternate Dollhouse pilot... you failed me there. But I don't expect it to happen again, so we're cool big_smile

Re: 4x12 (Spoilers)

I think this season was too much reacting than acting. The whole story was set in the last episode of last season and now finally anything is possible again. The sunset and on the road again into an unknown future is the ultimate way to go wherever you want.
It could go either way, with Karen and Becca or without them. But Karen was and is the love of Hanks life, that didn't change at all this season.

Oh, but I think it did. The show worked very hard over the last three episodes to convince us that Karen fell out of love with Hank, completely. He still loves her, but she is done with him. I suspect we won't see (much) of her in the coming seasons - it's going to be all new Hank's adventures with Becca guest-starring. I think the show made it pretty clear Karen and Hank are done, for good.
