Re: Terra Nova

Why so negative guys? I thought it was very entertaining, smooth phased, likable characters (if we ignore the kids) so far. And if the science doesnt add up... who cares?

Re: Terra Nova

If that leader guy had to wait over 100 days before the next guy showed up (and it was like a second for the next guy), why wasn't it like that for everyone? And why was it like that in the first place?
Time couldn't be dilated.. if it was, they wouldn't be able to communicate with the future.. If it was a random occurrence, why isn't it random anymore?

I now it's not important, but it bothered me...

I did however like that they mentioned that they had created a new timeline.

Re: Terra Nova

I just don't get it of all the people that get a third child they picked a doctor and a cop. 1 that should uphold the law and the other that daily sees the problems of overpopulation.

Then the dad beats up other cops knowing the punishment for this and he probably knows them personally too.

Then the doctor gets invited to Terra Nova even after committing a crime. And somehow has resources to free her husband from jail, a person with such resources could probably hide the third child better.

Then they come to Terra Nova which is cool and all but a military dicatorship is in control of terra nova, kind of a weird way to start over. I guess democracy is what was the cause of the problems in the future.

Also they bring some pathetic technology with hem through the portal weapons that can't even kill the dino's, i don't think i saw one dead dino in the pilot.

I will watch a few more episode before i decide if i'm gonna drop it, but it's not looking good mainly because of the weird family.

80

Re: Terra Nova

From what i understand the doctor is not rich but she had the option to be rich. Instead she decided to help the people in the lower levels.

81

Re: Terra Nova

I think that they limit the technology on terra nova. They have probably forbidden everything that would make any impact on the environment, which is why everyone on the planet can't go true right away, but they have to build a society in the right way, first... or something

But yes, seams like they should have some better weapons against the dinos...

82

Re: Terra Nova

the thing about dinos. they are huge. plus their nerve system is built differently. you can't stop an elephant with 1 shot. or it has to be extremely lucky shot. dinos are times and times bigger than elephants.
that's my 50 cents.

Bleh look, it's been one episode yet, stop flaming give it 4-5 episodes before judging anything.

So far it hasn't been horrible nor extremely good, although i would love to see more of the future world.

84

Re: Terra Nova

why?
there is absolutely no hope for us in the future. with the current poluting we will have max 50 years.
we will not even last as long as in this series.

wasn't bad IMO. Much more watchable than Falling Skies. I'm sticking with it for now

Re: Terra Nova

i'm still at episode 1, watched 40 mins and so far i like it smile

what i like:
-production value is high
-i don't need a great story, when i get dinosaurs and time travel for that

dont like:
- family crusoe drama

when they keep the family drama in check and balance it well with the other stuff,  i can easily watch it

Re: Terra Nova

My favorite parts of the show were when they went hunting for the test subjects and when they raced the birds away on a wild ride. Oh wait, they totally decided to skip those parts that were the only parts even remotely interesting. What's the point of having a show in dinoland and then skip the dinos all together?

Yeah i feel the same way, they prefer to focus on the family drama don't know why.

It's funny with the 'red suits' dying at the beginning by like 10 birds and then with the millions of them attacking the camp noone got seriously injured.

I have a feeling i should just drop this show now because i don't think it will change, probably gonna just read a few episode reviews and pick it back up if the shows starts to become interesting.

96

Re: Terra Nova

well i still like the show, altough I agree that they focus way to much on the family drama, and i did feel it was a bit wierd that no one really got hurt when they attacked the camp. so its mixed feelings about the show but i will still watch it
