The script is identical with a TV show from some years ago, except the dyno. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the show.
However I will give the show a try.

outcasts perhaps?

That was like less than a year ago I believe, now that you got me thinking yeah they are disturbingly similar.

Except I liked outcasts more and they cancelled it on a massive cliffhanger.

You could have been thinking of some completely different show of course as I have nodoubt there are a dozen others with pretty much the same plot out there.

EDIT: oh bloody hell 6 minutes late, I really should reload the page before I start replying.

Re: Terra Nova

Yep, there are many shows with a similiar plot. My first pick would be Earth 2 from the 90s - http://next-episode.net/earth-2

Re: Terra Nova

oh the whining on you people! lol, i agree that some dialogues could have been worked on a lot but come on, is this show the same as your everyday drama? really?

your used to seeing dinasours your real life are you?

I think it was ok, it could have been a lot better but still, it have potential to be something good.

Re: Terra Nova

What the hell? I didn't expect so many to hate this... I liked it. I think it's going to be an interesting show, until FOX cancels it..
And it was nice to see Alison Miller again.... Why was Kings canceled?

Re: Terra Nova

Yet to get around to watching this, but based on how much money Fox as thrown at this show the ratings will have to be The CW levels for it to at least not get a season 2. They wouldn't be able to justify the money they spent other wise.

Re: Terra Nova

i liked it too...

Everyday drama with a dinosaur in the background is still an everyday drama. They have the chance to change things but to me it started out very bad.

Re: Terra Nova

WoW reading some of the comments here makes me so sad, i liked the show sure some dialogues are alittle corny but cmon. Did you really expect the show to be a mashup of Jurassic Park / Dino Riders or what that old cartoon series was called smile

Re: Terra Nova

I'm thinking Jurassic Park with Lost mixed in with a sprinkle of battlestar galactica ;-)

Yep, indeed this was the show. Disturbing similar plot, but hey, let give a chance to this one since the other one was canceled. This pilot episode have turn on some curiosity in me and let's face it, put some adrenaline in my veins to.

Anytime, Anywhere, Anything!

Re: Terra Nova

it seemed a bit meh to me.  Theres sooo many plot holes already

Has failed his lurker exam and posted

Re: Terra Nova

It disappointed me a little bit. I have to agree with others they could tune the family drama a little down. I don't want to stay focused on that little family with their corny problems and dialogs tongue.

But if they will keep focusing on the other camp, drama within the camp and all, then it could be interesting!

I liked it, and will keep watching. But they could tune the family drama a little down.

Re: Terra Nova

Been lurking the forums for too long and I'm having a slow day at work so here goes:

I agree with most here that the family drama part was quite meh. Some parts were overly melodramatic (like when they jumped through the "stargåte" thingy) and seemed really cheesy. I would have also liked to see more on what was happening in the dystopian future.

I will continue watching it as the sixers storyline and the general's secrets kept me intrigued, hopefully they will cut down the family drama in the future tho!

Re: Terra Nova

this show is a good example how easly i can be satisfied

this show is totaly stupid and i like it

the good stuff
cgi looke most of the time pretty good
dinosaurs
timetravel
action

the bad stuff
okay humanity manged to build a machine to send people back in time... but is not able to leave the planet or clean up the pollution of the planet
the girl said they send back a drone but wheren`t able to find the drone in the future and because of that this is a new timeline... they tryed to find a drone that was on earth for 80 million years ... an earth that was hit by atleast one astroid and has moving continents
not very belivable
that stupid boy

the family stuff didn`t bothered me at all.... i think they needed to something like that to introduce the characters

Re: Terra Nova

The first 40 minutes sucked ass and i wanted to turn it off soooooooo bad. BUT then it got pretty intresting the action sequence was pretty entertaining, secrets and plot lines started to unfold and soo ill be watching for a while longer hope it focuses less on the kids and the people they havea  crush on and more on the dad and his hunt for the truth!

Re: Terra Nova

I wasn't too impressed. I think I might've had too high hopes for new Sci-Fi show. It has potential, much like Outcasts did, and I hope they get the show off the ground fast. And I hope they fix some of the stupid things they have like so many armed security guys eearing hockey gear. Did they watch Mad Max when they wrote this?

Also, I wish the angsty teenager would just drop dead..

what i meant was that they will not be able to travel back and forth. it's one time only.
