Monday Night Ratings
CBS topped the ratings on Monday night, but its new sitcom Mad Love started slowly (for CBS) with just a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating (much lower than our polled readers expected), 10% below the average rating this spring for Rules of Engagement.
The rest of the night was up and down for CBS, as How I Met Your Mother fell 3% vs. last week to a 3.7 adults 18-49 rating. Two And A Half men dipped 5% to a 4.2 rating. But Mike & Molly bucked the trend, rising 9% to a 3.8 rating. Hawaii Five-0?s 2.8 rating was even with last week’s series low.
On NBC, Chuck held at its series low 1.7 adults 18-49 rating, The Cape fell to another series low, down a tenth to just a 1.2 rating, and Harry’s Law was steady vs. last week at its series low 1.7 rating.
ABC’s The Bachelor was down 9% vs. last week to a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating, while Castle fell 12% to a 2.2 rating.
On Fox, House tumbled 21% from last week’s Super Bowl promoted episode to a 3.4 rating, and The Chicago Code neared the flatline, dropping 17% to just a 2.0 rating.
The CW headed lower on the night, with 90210 scoring a 0.7 adults 18-49 rating down 22% from last week, and Gossip Girl also drawing a 0.7 adults 18-49 rating down 12% from last week. In the CW target women 18-34 ratings 90210?s 1.0 rating tumbled 33%, and Gossip Girl’s 1.3 rating fell 28% vs. last week.

Re: TV Shows Ratings
Tuesday Night Ratings :
Fox and CBS tied in the adults 18-49 ratings as most broadcast shows ratings fell vs. last week.
On Fox, Glee slipped 9% vs. last week to a 4.2 adults 18-49 rating. Raising Hope tumbled 19% to a series low 2.2 rating. Traffic Light tumbled too, down 21% to just a 1.5 rating, a series low in its short, and certain to end badly, life.
CBS’s NCIS fell 12% vs. last week to a season low 3.7 adults 18-49 rating. NCIS:LA was down 6% vs. last week to a 3.3 rating. The Good Wife fell 9% vs. last week, tieing its series low 2.0 rating.
ABC’s No Ordinary Family was even with last week’s series low 1.5 rating. V, bucking the general trend, rose 6% to a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating. Detroit 1-8-7 fell 8% to a 1.2 rating.
On NBC, Biggest Loser’s 2.7 adults 18-49 rating was a season low, down 10% from last week, and Parenthood’s 1.9 rating was even with last week.
The CW’s One Tree Hill rose 13% vs. last week to a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating, and Hellcats was even with last week’s 0.7 adults 18-49 rating. In the CW target women 18-34 rating, OTH’s 1.2 rating was down 8%, and Hellcats 1.2 rating was even vs. last week.
Re: TV Shows Ratings
Wednesday Night Ratings:
American Idol ratings slipped from last Wednesday’s one hour episode, but Fox still easily won the ratings race on the night. Idol and Survivor seemed to take a bite out of each other’s audience. NBC finished behind Univision for adults 18-49.
American Idol’s 8.1 adults 18-49 rating was down 4% from last Wednesday, and 21% from last season’s fifth Tuesday (10.2 rating, not sure if that was a 2 hr. ep). Idol’s 8pm hour was down 14% (7.2 rating vs. 8.4 rating) vs. last Wednesday’s one hour episode.
CBS’s Survivor: Redemption Island premiered with a 3.2 adults 18-49 rating, down 29% vs. last spring’s premiere to not only its lowest premiere ever, but its lowest rated regular episode ever. Criminal Minds drew a 3.2 rating at 9pm, down 11% vs. last week. The series premiere of Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior did better, opening with a 3.3 adults 18-49 rating, beating Survivor which is not what our polled readers expected.
ABC’s ratings just got hammered. The Middle’s 2.3 rating was a season low down 12% from last week, and Better With You fell 14% to just a series low 1.8 rating. Modern Family’s 4.3 rating was down 16% from last Wednesday, and the second episode of Mr. Sunshine tumbled to a 2.6 rating, 30% below its premiere last week. Off The Map fell to a series low 1.5 rating, down 21% vs. last week.
NBC’s Minute To Win It may be running out of steam, it crashed down 40% to a series low 1.0 rating. At 10pm, Law & Order: SVU drew a 2.2 rating, down 15% vs. last week.

Re: TV Shows Ratings
Thursday Night Ratings:
Fox easily led the night as American Idol was up 3% vs. last Thursday to a 7.5 adults 18-49 rating. But ‘Idol’ was down 21% from the 9.5 adult 18-49 rating for the equivalent episode last year (which aired on a Wednesday at 9pm). Bones was also up 3% from last week to a 3.3 rating in adults 18-49, bettering the 2.9 rating for Justin Bieber’s stuntcastic February sweep return to CSI.
Minus the Idol lead-in, Bones vs. Bieber would’ve been a closer match. Bones had a 3.7 adults 18-49 rating in its first half hour (down from the 8.1 rating for Idol’s second half hour) but fell to a 3.0 for the second half hour. CSI had a 2.8 adult 18-49 rating for the first half hour and a 2.9 for the second.
ABC’s entire lineup hit season lows last night with Wipeout down 14%, Grey’s Anatomy down 14% and Private Practice down 8% from the previous week in adults 18-49.
CBS’s comedies The Big Bang Theory (down 5%) and $#*! My Dad Says (down 4%) fell, but both CSI (up 4%) and The Mentalist (up 3%) were up slightly from last week.
So much for “Comedy Night Done Right” as NBC saw its lowest regularly original programmed night of the season and tied as the network’s lowest Thursday night with original programming ever with adults 18-49. Community was flat at season low levels, and that was NBC’s best news of the night. The Office was down 6% to a season low 3.3 rating in adults 18-49, Parks & Recreation was down 8% to a season low 2.3 rating, 30 Rock was down 13% to a season low 2.0 rating and Outsourced was down 12% to a season (and series) low 1.5 rating.

Re: TV Shows Ratings
Friday Night Ratings
Fox and CBS tied for the lead in adults 18-49 as Kitchen Nightmares, Fringe and The Defenders and others saw gains versus last week.
Kitchen Nightmares rose 13% to a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating and Fringe was up 7% to a 1.5 rating.
Supernatural and Smallville each rose 11% from last week with each scoring a 1.0 rating in adults 18-49.
The Defenders 1.3 rating in adults 18-49 was up 18% vs last week and. CSI: NY was up 12% versus last Friday to a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating. In its return to Friday originals at 10pm, Blue Bloods scored a 1.6 rating.
Primetime What Would You Do? was up 23% from its last original on February 4 to a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating.

Re: TV Shows Ratings
Sunday Night Ratings:
FOX edged out ABC for a nightly win with adults 18-49, and ABC edged out CBS for second place. CBS of course won with total viewers.
The Amazing Race got off to a slow start with a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating, down from a 2.8 rating a year ago on February 21, 2010. For the hour, it tied with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, though “Makeover” had a few more total viewers.
Both Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters were up from last week when they were pummeled to lows by the Grammy Awards. “Housewives” was up 15% to a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating and “Brothers & Sisters” was up 12%, but still couldn’t quite manage a 2.0 adults 18-49 rating, settling for a 1.9 rating. All the Fox animations were up a bit from last Sunday too, but considering there were no Grammy Awards this week, it seemed a pretty slow Sunday night.

Re: TV Shows Ratings
Monday Night Ratings :
ABC edged out CBS for the night with adults 18-49 and CBS won with total viewers.
All CBS shows were down a bit from last week. How I Met Your Mother was down a tenth to a 3.6 adults 18-49 rating and Mad Love dropped two-tenths in its second week to a 2.8 rating. Unsurprisingly, with Two and a Half Men airing a repeat, Mike & Molly dropped from last week’s 3.8 rating all the way down to a 3.2 rating, a series low. That didn’t help Hawaii Five-0 any as it dropped a tenth from last week to a series low 2.7 adults 18-49 rating.
All of NBC’s shows were flat vs. last week, all at series low levels with Chuck and Harry’s Law each pulling a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating and The Cape pulling a 1.2.
The Bachelor rose to a season high 3.3 adults 18-49 rating between 8-10p, that didn’t hurt Castle any as it rose from last week’s 2.2 all the way up to a 2.6 adults 18-49 rating.
House rose a tenth to a 3.5 adults 18-49 rating and The Chicago Code also rose a tenth to a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating.
CW’s Gossip Girl saw a 23% increase in total viewers, a 20% increase with adults 18-34 and a 13% increase with both adults 18-49 and women 18-34 (1.5 rating). 90210 was up 7% in viewers and 11% and adults 18-34 and flat vs. last week with adults 18-49 and women 18-34.
