Re: 1x06
i'll whine on 2 things only.
when they are in the lab, eating breakfast they don't seem to be hungry. living outside they seemed to have tons of food.
and what the frak about the last explosion. that shockwave should have wiped away all the cars there. and even tho that caravan is heavy, it's glasses should have shattered.
Re: 1x06
good ep, indeed. not as good as i thought a season finale should be but kept me watching and waiting for more
i wouldn't say tons of food. they were fishing and hunting and eating rodents
and for the explosion. most of it was underground. as were most of the facility. Reminded me of Umbrella Co - twas funny
Re: 1x06
Okay, so this show is turning into more of a character based drama than an action/zombie killing show.
I'm cool with that. I'll definitely keep on watching.
Food wise, I think it was only Angela who was two-days-worth hungry because she was sitting with the body of her sister the whole time, then they went to the CDC. The others must've just been one-day hungry.
From what I've seen personally, most gas fires (like the one in the show, which claimed to be an explosive that sets the air on fire) don't usually have shock waves unless they are under pressure. (eg. internal combustion engine). It's usually more of a "FOOMPH" than a "BOOM".
What I WOULD complain about is the whole building blowing up. Unless of course, the "self destruct" designers put supplementary explosives in strategic places just to level the building in case of attack. That still wouldn't excuse the bits and pieces of wall flying everywhere.
Then again, it's just a show and I still enjoy watching it.
Re: 1x06
the "bomb" was the same style as the MOAB. They are designed to totally vaporize a given area, but leave outside areas intact. (explosive lens stuff)
The cgi explosion looked cheap but was i guess close to the real deal.
Anyway, good season finaly.
A great would have been if the CDC story would be a little longer. But now there is really pure hopelessness.
Re: 1x06
I expected more from the CDC site. One tiny ep with no answers whatsoever was just weak. IMHO alot of potential was wasted.
The blowing up part was cheap indeed - and the zombie head shots are getting rediculous. Cmon - firering a handgun while running and getting a headshot is almost impossible. And doing it all the time is just boring impossible.
Well I guess we're back to square one with seson two and have to wait almost a complete year for the next ep
Re: 1x06
I dunno if you've ever fired a handgun. But if a (non moving) target of a size of a cd is more than 5 meters away and you want to hit that in the middle you have to stand still and take aim for at least a second. No way in doing such a thing with a slow moving target while you're moving too. But hey - I guess it's a movie law, that every bullet gets exactly where it should go - except someone shoots the hero. Then no matter how many bullets are fired he's never hit

i can propably hit a cd from 150m away with a rifle with aim time of a second
faster you aim the better the result (well atleast in my case)

Hehe - yep I hit a CD from 380m IIRC - but I was lying on the ground and had an (assault) rifle. But when it came to hit targets while you were fast moving - like jumping over barriers (high pulse) and shooting with a handgun I was lucky to hit a guy (not a real one of course) at all. Mostly I did but mainly into the chest and not in the head. And it wasn't just me it was everyone
Maybe I should mention that I was decorated for shooting, so I had a lot experience. Ahh well - those were the days...

i'm also decorated for shooting...and i dont have to lie down for the 150m shot, and no scopes, just the iron sight...
never shot a handgun tho. but a friend of mine told me that you cant hit a barn door with a handgun from 25m away...

Actually not that hard. A person who is somewhere in the middle of "absolute best" and "fired some rounds once" could zero in on a head sized target while walking at a modest pace in about half a second. With the proper technique of course. Shane's shotgun should be no problem.
It takes about 3 seconds for a pro to shoot down 10 8in.diameter steel plates. Jus' sayin'.
Re: 1x06
True - but we're not talking about pros and walking, we're talking about people with no to low training for this kind of shooting which are running in panic while getting away from an exploding building
Right.
I'm just saying the 2 cops shouldn't have any trouble shooting zombies in the head.
Maybe the redneck and the old guy too. They look like they've had their share of shooting stuff.
While were at it, anybody else wonder why the redneck uses the arrows he uses for hunting for killing zombies? Sounds like a recipe for some cross contamination. Veal with zombie on the side.
Re: 1x06
Actually shooting zombies doesn't make sense at all. The grey matter is highly infectiuos and exploding stuff has a way of finding its way to you skin, eyes and mouth - so that's a big nono - but what would be the point of having walkers around and don't use them just for target practice. It would be even more boring.
As I said before - this episode was very nice, because it dealt with the apocalypse itself and the people reacting to it. But getting just drunk and blow the whole buildiing up was so useless and just a waste of potential it just hurts.
But IIRC the writer(s) were let go and we can expect some new tone for season two.Let's hope it get's a plot worth the viewer count
