Re: 1x05 - WildfireI liked it. I think that show is great and I liked every single episode. For my part, I don't expect anything but what the writers got for us and I enjoy what I'm watching. So, the "remedy" depends on one not-so-sane-guy? Someone is gonna be disappointed I think. The Latino guy who leaves with his family is stupid if you ask me. What he'll gonna do when he'll be facing a crowd of geeks? Good luck to them. Good ep! Re: 1x05 - WildfireWell, only one more to go for season 1... Season 2 will definitely need something more than this. -Rob Re: 1x05 - WildfireUnimpressive episode. I begin to see some flaws that I just can't overlook in this series in how the people act - they are just so bloody STUPID sometimes, okay we could never set a similar scenario up to see how people would act(Zombies, hello!), but they act irrational at times even for when struck by grief, terror. The dilemma itself is compelling if done convincingly. This isn't done 'badly' per se, but certainly not as effectively as I would expect from a good quality show. -Rob Re: 1x05 - WildfireI like the way it concentrates on the human side of things after a zombie apocalypse. I mean, come on, if I want to watch a load of people running around shooting zombies in the head or getting eaten I'll either play L4D or watch something naff by Romero! If every episode just consisted of Grimes and the gang being chased by zombies you people here would moan about that too! There has to be a mixture of both, and in my opinion, The Walking Dead isn't doing bad so far. 2020. Meh.
Re: 1x05 - WildfireLets all be honest, there are much worse shows on that receive much less criticism..its just everyone was expecting too much from it. Its an entertaining show about the zombie apocalypse ...I'm happy Re: 1x05 - Wildfireproteinnerd wrote:
My watchlist ain't that huge...and I'm not saying you're wrong....but what shows do you mean? -Rob Re: 1x05 - Wildfireproteinnerd wrote:

The first episode was fairly close, but as the episodes go on its deviating more and more. Some of the changes i like, others I don't. All in all up to this episode, I like the comic's story more. With only one episode left in the season, I am surprised its been quite...anti-climatic. Spoilers of the comic below. Ill try not to go into too much details, incase any of you want to read the comic. ▼Spoiler And thats not even a quarter of the differences. So yeah nothing like the comic at all. This episode was quite a disappointment when compared to the "graphic novel" But still a ton better then most of the crap on TV now. Re: 1x05 - Wildfirewhy they make so many mistakes in this show? Yes I totally agree with you both. The show was never described as a splatterhouse Romero movie cut into long, pieces. In some other zombie movies they also touch the human emotional side of the post-apocalyptic world and they had to stuff a lot of emotion in a very small timeframe. TWD is doing pretty good, showing various aspects of said world and how a variating group of people deal with them. That some are irrational is nothing new in today's society but we rarely see it this obviously because we don't all work at a hospital's Emergency unit were we see people make likewise "rational mistakes". Every human is unique, not just in appereance but also in moral values and coping with grief for example. Re: 1x05 - WildfirePhuncz wrote:
that does not excuse other people letting her (the blonde) mourn there so long. just slap the crap out of her and slap some senses to her. wasn't it mentioned that it has been 2 months now. 2 months should be enough time to get used to and man up with the situation. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think tanks come with a manual. I wouldn't have a clue how to drive one, fire it, reload or anything, so why should they? It seems to me that they only approach zombies or highly populated areas when they really need to, maybe that's why they don't want to keep going into town to pillage stuff. At the end of the day these are people they are up against, and I think it's easy for us to say we'd run around shooting people in the head but isn't that dangerously close to becoming some kind of sick sport? I would do it in that situation if I had to, but I wouldn't be happy with myself if I just ran around killing people and enjoying it. It's not a game, it's survival, and I would only confront the walking dead when I really had to. 2020. Meh.

Everyone deals with grief in their own way. Just because you think she's had time enough to mourn doesn't mean she has. You have to let people come to terms with things in their own time. How long is long enough to mourn your sister's death? And in all fairness to her, she shot her in the head while in her arms, so I think she came to terms with it quite well eventually, and that's how it should be. 2020. Meh.

there was a picture in one of those (this shows) discussions that tanks are as easy as driving a car. why do you need to load a tank and shoot it. not like those zombies are attacking you with a bazooka. just run over them. Orlando wrote:
you stay out of this. graybags wrote:
no they are not. they are zombies. graybags wrote:
one hour is enough. she is gone what can i do any more. i can remember and mourn her in my thougts all my life later. and right you are. it's a survival. grow some hairy balls. Re: 1x05 - Wildfiregodzionu wrote:
seriously? people are differrent, people mourn in differrent amount of time, thats how people are. i agree that sometimes in this show the people donet act like you would think someone would in the situation but her mourning is not one of those times. overall i think it was a good episode, im not sure why so many are complaining this is a drama show, i think there are plenty of action for a drama show. Yes that was me but with that image I was implying it isn't as easy: Phuncz wrote:
