Remember the episode where he saw the foot of "the mom"? They said that Zoe was married to that guy since she was in her early 20's or something, so I don't think it could be her. If she were married to a billionaire, why would she still be living in an apartment with a roommate?

Zoe can't be his wife because he (Ted - as the narrator) mentioned her name to his kids. So they would instantly say - ahh that's how you met our mom

I mean, this isn't the most serious of shows. IF it were, the only reason to start telling the story this far back would be that Robin was very closely related to Ted finding the Mom.

what if Ted knew their mom from the start of the show? what if Robin is indeed their mom?!
ok that doesn't sound plausible and someone who streches a story like that wouldnt just tell the real name to keep their listeners in the dark for a bit longer. Zoe could be an alternation/appreviation of some sort.
