Re: 1x02 - Guts
i don't know. the escape part was greatly executed, and the drama around that guy in handcuffs was ok, but if felt a little slow in parts. i know it's drama and stuff, but i hope it will not be way too much drama for my taste.

Re: 1x02 - Guts
I loved it, thought it was a strong episode. Will be very happy if they rest of the series is as good as that.
Re: 1x02 - Guts
LOVED IT!
Just wondering, do you guys think the guy in the Dodge Challenger driving away was part of the plan or did he desert the other guys?
I think he was just having fun on the open road...
I think their plan was to get out of the city anyway....
I wouldn't be surprised if will see the dude chained on the roof again...
Re: 1x02 - Guts
Is it just me, or did Glenn kind of remind anyone else of Ash, the pokemon master? Apart from that, I think he's currently my fave character...
...and we'll definitely see the roof guy again...the hacksaw was on the roof still...

Re: 1x02 - Guts
This is just fucking amazing, in the last 10 minutes I was sitting on the edge of my seat and I still can feel my warm cheeks because of the tension.
\o/
How tense was the bit where they were walking through the horde covered in the blood etc? You knew they were going to make it through but I was still on the edge of my seat!! Great stuff.
Re: 1x02 - Guts
His old partner boning the misses from behind lol I get the feeling it's not just going to be humans vs zombies...
The premise of the show is its only been a 1-2 weeks since the zombie apocalypse right? I know all rules are off when zombies are beating down your door but you'd still like to think that your wife would wait more than 2 weeks before boning your mates lol

With that one I knew that it would start raining since the first sound of the thunder. But yes, when I watch something or play a game, I'm ussualy laid back on my seat, but here I was literary sitting straight and just looking.

Or there was something going on before the apocalypse.
Re: 1x02 - Guts
Just downloaded episode 2... is it 44 minutes long (instead of pilot's ~60) or is my version wrong?
its 44 minutes
it was a nice episode but didnt get the "great" feeling, i dont know maybe im expecting to mutch but it feelt like something was missing, dont know what.but still, it was a nice episode

Yeah man. That was SO not cool. . . I liked his partner for being there when he was in the hospital, but WTF? Why is he going around boning his partner/best friends woman? They didn't even go back to the hospital and look for him. I think the decision to leave Rick behind was his partners. He made the same decision when they were asking if they should help the group of people stuck in the city. That character just seems like a HUGE douchebag to me. . .
Re: 1x02 - Guts
Yeah what a douche, and I already hate the bitch from prison break, so I have no problem hating her even more here. Hope they get caught and killed.

Of course he was having fun. But the scene was so rediculous (like before in the pilot with the horse). Why would one lane be empty? If people want to leave a city in panic they would use every lane! Just stupid scene which works only as an image in a comic or as a poster ... oh wait
So awesome.
The tension between the characters is great, the action is sweet, it's imaginative even though it's a zombie film (Covering up in zombie blood to sneak past).
Start to end, it's amazing.
IMHO the tension was below average. The characters still felt artificial. And the scene with the black dude dropping the key in mega bullet-time was just cheap writing

Almost what I thought - except for the 'nice episode'. The zombies are plain rediculous. Sometimes they can climb fences and smash windows and can run. Sometimes they are too stupid to recognise a sweating living creature right next to them staring. And the guts parts was just rediculous - again
This is a boring show - which works nice as a comic. Too bad the hunger for a zombie show is so big that the story and basic logic doesn't count. I give it some more episodes but without major improvement on the character side I'll drop it.

bah.
disagree with almost everything you said. only thing that rang true in yout zombie-like rant was that the characters are a bit shallow

Of course, not that there is a solid thing made out of concrete that separates both lanes and in a traffic jam there is no way to go either forward or backwards. Oh wait. Besides, how do you know that they didn't use it? Because there are no cars?

Well, from what I read here, you're sure an expert in cheap writing.

And in which part "they use smell as key recognision" you moaned so loud in your head that you missed it?
Re: 1x02 - Guts
i kinda agree with BB here, but dude. i know i have seen quite a bit of shows and i start to look for stupid errors. every show has them. in some shows they stick out more in some less. i can get your not liking this show, so i don't get why you don't like the event also as i do.

True. But every show has it's own set rules and logic. For TWD you have to accept the whole apocalypse virus thingy - which is complete utterly bollocks - but I accept that as is!
But you have to set believable zombie rules in the show. Like now they behave exactly as the scene fits. That's not ok and it leads to a boring plot.
And the most unlogical thing in this episode were the guts splattering. They even mentioned, that you have to be careful to not get any stuff in your eyes or on your skin. And in the next moment he smashed the axe into the body with all people standing next to it
There were at least 10 moments were they got all the greasy stuff all over them. That's simply not good enough for me. All scenes are just nice images inside a comic book but don't work for me as a series.

should all zombies be alike? like the way humans are excatly the same...

So now you are an expert on zombie personality?

Of course it is. Because it's fiction. Zombies are as believeable as fairies, cylons, hobbits or Chucky dolls. But ok, let's moan some more.

1. They were away and nothing was splattered on them.
2. They got it on them. Why? Because survival was in that moment more important that hygiene.
3. Why they said that? Because they have NO clue how the virus spreads. Remeber, in the TWD universe there was no George Romero, no zombie movies, they don't know shit about them (and the reason why they call them walkers).
Of course, everyone is a critic sitting comfy in front of their computer. But they are just humans in a extreme situation, they will make mistakes. All of us do, that makes us human.

And why we should be? Everyone of us is different. Let's see the fence scene. Only one zombie got through. Why? Maybe because when he was alive, he was in good physical condition. I know that I as a zombie wouldn't climbe shit. Even know I can't. But some ppl can do it in a second. Besides, zombies in TWD remember bits and pieces of their old live.
