Re: 1x01 PREAIR
I actually quite enjoyed it and thought it showed promise. I've seen a fair few zombie movies, but this show, in my opinion wasn't made anywhere near in the same style as your typical zombie gorefest, a la Romero. If anything, it reminded me of a cross between Jericho, 28 Days Later and the game Left4Dead! And that's no bad thing if you ask me. Maybe it will get worse as time goes on, but there aren't many shows that don't do that.
2020. Meh.

well i had the same feeling. ok i can understand BB-s complaining, but there are millions of vampire movies and you watch vampire series, there are millions of sci-fi movies and you watch sci-fi series. you can't really compare them. give it a few epiosodes of try. if you don't like it, then i'm cool with it.

Very true - but what have vampires and sci-fi stuff in common? They are intersting and can talk and have an agenda of their own - especially vampires! But zombies? They are nothing but "The Walking Dead" - no agenda not interesting, just a wet dream of a make-up artist

Well - if it sticks to the comic I'll might peak in again in season 3, but i doubt the show will last that long I guess this review is very straight to the point: http://collectededitions.blogspot.com/2 … ne-by.html

Actually no - all fine here - but I'm really disappointed with this show. I should've read the critics earlier

Hell no. Just because a critic slates something means NOTHING to me. It's all down to personal taste. If I like a show I watch it, if I don't, I don't! If a critic rates a show highly does that mean I'll like it? Nope, and vice versa.

Well - that I agree on too But the critic I linked is not about the show itself but on the comic it's based on with a wider view into the future of the story. And that doesn't sound so good. And the first episode is exacltly like the bad things the critc mentions

Re: 1x01 PREAIR
Maybe they will take the good stuff from the comic and leave the rest. I mean, look at True Blood, quite different to the book but still great.

Nancy deWolf Smith from The Wall Street Journal said that the "pilot episode [is] so good that it has hooked even a zombie hater like me." She said that what made the show so good was that it feels real and looks cinematic. Heather Havrilesky of Salon.com included the show on their list of 9 new TV shows to not miss, giving it a grade of "A", with the author saying "A film-quality drama series about zombies? Somebody pinch me!"

Ahh - don't hear to these voices - they use reverse logic While The Event will be a success worldwide. I admit that TWD could become a wide success in the US. It's a nobrainer

Re: 1x01 PREAIR
The Event isn't doing it for me. I watched about 20 mins of the latest episode last night and drifted off thinking about other things. If I do that in a show it's not a good sign. I'll persevere I think, but I reckon it'll get cancelled soon. I mean come on, they're aliens from 1944 and they can do straaaaaange things to us humans. Big effing whoop.
2020. Meh.
