from my point of view venice is a bit to strong .... in my first game i had so much money i that even bought citys from other civs... didn`t had to fight a single war all game long.... and even if i had to their no point fighting some one who can buy several units every single turn

This is so addictive... I must ask for another week of vacation. Otherwise I spend all of it renovating the apartment and almost no time playing the game.

Re: Civilization V

So i got the gold edition because of the epic sale, but can someone fill me in on multiplayer, because it takes days for me to run thru a campaign, how the heck does multi player work?  Also i do not have brave new world, which i hear is fun, i'll wait for that one on the winter sale... maybe.

Re: Civilization V

So.. i have a friend coming over with beer and we're playing that crap until we fall over. I should be renovating the apartment. Fuck everything about this.

if by "how" you mean "how people can play a 8 hour multi game", the host can save at anytime during the game and resume with ease.

Re: Civilization V

Is there a good tutorial for newbies? Because I've been playing vs AI on Prince diff. and they are soooo ahead of me it's ridiculous.

Re: Civilization V

Should not start on prince, it's quite difficult. First finish a game or two on chieftain, learn and have fun - then step it up. Previous version wasn't quite as difficult on prince but this one seems harder.

Question on expanding:
When one should do it? I know that it should be close to a new luxury resource, but the 'when' is still a mystery for me.

Well lately I have been playing with aggressive expansion - as long as I have at least 4 happiness I go for a new city next to a new luxury resource (I stop expanding at around 5-6 cities). Spending a little time at "unhappy" has never stopped me smile.

Dont forget to trade with the AI - if you got an abundance of one luxury resource they will go for an even swap if they have two of something as well.

Oh and most of my happiness comes from religion later (because I usually build stonehenge as early as possible and get to cherry pick the features).

So what kind of a build order do you guys use in your first city? Obviously it varies on circumstance a bit, but I usually go: scout-monument-worker-stonehenge-settler-pyramids-settler. Social policies sually I pick Tradition first just for the +3 culture, followed by liberty with an emphasis on getting the settler first.

if there are no opponents nearby I might build the stonehenge before the first settler (especially on higher difficulties). Or not go for the stonehenge at all if there is a natural resource with good faith nearby.

usualy i start with a scout, than i build a monument or seatler after monument and seatler i build a archer or a worker

socialpolicy.... on smaller maps i go for tradition on bigger maps i go for liberty... if i go for liberty i get my first worker from their

but both depend on maptype, mapsize, how close other civs are around and how fast my city is growing

normaly i expand early and start building worldwonders when i am satisfied with the size of my territory
