Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Thanks - fixed the bug with the link on the Next Episode logo. As for the suggestion for adding the X functionality in show details - I don't really want to clutter show details with it, but I'll keep your idea in mind!

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Great site. Thanks for all your hard work. Just a little tweak that would be nice to have. On a show's page, there's a "Previous Episode" / "Next Episode" section. Would it be possible to add the total number of episodes in the season to the Episode lines? Thus, for https://next-episode.net/billy-the-kid, instead of "Episode:7", it would be "Episode: 7 / 8". This would save a click on the "Episodes Guide and Summaries" link to find out how many episodes are left.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Haine, that does already exist, for shows that we know have that information. For example, have a look at The Boys, that shows "Episode: 4 (of 8 ordered)" currently.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Perhaps you need a better source then, its been known (for example) that Billy the Kid was 8 episodes, from the start. Split into 2 x 4.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Our source for that info is TVMaze.com. You can edit that info right there and it'll become available in here as well. Are you aware of any other service we can use for that data? Cheers!

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
@santah, now that we have alternative names for a lot of non-English shows (ie, anime), could we somehow add that option to the search engine function? You already have `#show_name#` for the main name, so maybe `#show_name_alt_n#` where `n` could be a number. I have only seen one show with two alt names, but I am sure there will be others

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
This sounds like a super niche feature (nested inside an already kinda niche feature) ... I don't see it happening any time soon Wizard ...

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Is there a setting for my homepage that will let me know I have a PM from a user?

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Are you talking about website PM or forum PM (because those are two different systems). Website PM will add a notification to the notification icon and it will start blinking. It will also trigger an email notification that you have an unread message (if you don't see it within about a day).

The forum, I guess. I just happened to click on a forum topic and saw the "PM" in red and discovered a PM dated in June. I don't read the forums as a habit, so who knows when I would have seen the notification otherwise. Not good.

It's not ideal, I agree, but not much I can do about it, other than completely turn off the PM functionality in the forums ...

The dialog box would not let me close it and navigate the site normally, I HAD to look at the notifications which now means the number is 0, isn't red, and doesn't blink. I wasn't ready to look at those and now I'll forget there were new things to look at.
Was there any follow-up to this? I've tried to read through the rest of the topic to see if so, but there are just so many of them, all separate posts instead of threaded in any way. I have the same/similar issue - went on vacation, came back to well over 20 notifications and before I had a change to even look at them they all were marked as read and now I can only see the top 10 or so. Where can we see our 'read' notifications?

Ok so to better handle these cases, I just changed how much notification "archive" there actually is. Instead of cutting them off at 10, it now includes notifications from 1 month back.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Is there a way to mark an entire season as Acquired and NOT have it appear on our Episodes list week after week? Take Animal Park UK https://next-episode.net/animal-park-uk I have every episode of season 23 (current season) and have watched more episodes than is available to check off in my Episodes list. So every week I have to mark one episode as Acquired, then Watched. Week after week. The check box to Toggle Whole Season as Acquired is only useful *after* all episodes have been aired. Could you change that?

Does this happen with any other show? There is not much I can to about this - it sounds like a niche edge case that's not really worth developing the functionality you want (because normally, this shouldn't be the case - to have access to episodes before they're aired according to the site).

Normally, if one only watches broadcast TV. I can't say if it happens with "any other show", but it has been my experience since joining the site.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
No I mean normally, broadcast TV is ahead of streaming or releasing it in any other way. There are rare exceptions (with AMC shows mostly) where they stream stuff before they air it.

Snowpiecer, I acquire and watch this every Wednesday, 4 days before its date here. I want to mark it watched, but I cant do this until it passes the "air date" on the site.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
All I know is that a lot of the shows I watch are British TV and sometimes the entire season is available online before the TVDB date. I suppose you could try an option to ignore TVDB dates (i.e. show the date aired/expected just like the episode list does now, but display the episode anyway). Once it's marked as acquired, it would follow the site rules/user preferences like any other acquired show.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
I have a suggestion for the movie search. When the results are returned, it would be nice to have the ability to see if it is acquired or not and watched or not. It would also be nice to be able to toggle them acquired or watched from there as well.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
There is only either the calendar for the full month, or the right hand side bar which has a quite a few days - customisable in the settings - https://next-episode.net/settings?action=misc, scroll to the bottom.
