▼Spoiler Rory is gone, will Amy fall in love in the doctor for real and be blissfully unaware of what happened below the earth? And will Amy ever go back to her old life? with no marriage to go back to, since the man she was going to wed never really existed after being devoured by the crack in the space time continuum-something, will she end up like rose? fizzled into an alternative universe? Edit: or will she somehow be reminded of the Rory and in despair go and get devoured by the light as well?

Re: 5x09 [MAJOR SPOILERS]
▼Spoiler The ring, which shouldn't exist, will get taken out of the TARDIS and as a result the TARDIS will explode, hence the bit of it The Doctor found. That's my theory anyway.

Could you freshen up my memory? I usually never miss/forget stuff but do tell and what episode was it in?

Re: 5x09 [MAJOR SPOILERS]
I guess the ring is somewhat the key to putting history back in it's tracks again, but through Amy, as the bloody crack follows her around. Everything seems to be pointing into a multiverse theme-solution. At least there is a sense of urgency and prophecy again in DW. Also a fair bit of melancholy. The moral tale of sacrifice x violence was beautifully weaved and I adore when humans are the badies, when our petty faces incapable of assuming a mistake give their distorted smirk. The day we truly learn to say "i'm sorry" there will be no more wars. in a way, this is what SciFi is about, a modern mythical tale to help guide us. It is a parabolla of no religion. It is our imagination daring to daring to create myths that do not need to pose as reality. (This applies to Fantasy genre too, obviously, althought fantasy usually traces it's originis to more drect references to traditional mythologies - JRRTolkien knew this just too well). I get they made the show more kid friendly, but the bit on the end with the crack was a bit "in your face" for my particular adult taste, I HATE those flashbacks being overtly explanatory, for me the weakest link in this series (aside from power ranger daleks).

Yeah In this episode they make a point or it coming into view just as Amy forgets about Rory.

Re: 5x09 [MAJOR SPOILERS]
One more thing! Did they really need to make the hibernation pod resemble SO MUCH THE SLEESTACKS? That bummed me out a bit.

Re: 5x09 [MAJOR SPOILERS]
NOOOO rory!! Didnt think Good guys died in DW. (This is my first season) I was wondering why that ring was there. Im on board Halo's theory, when teh ring leaves the tardis, probably be amy taking out to ask the Doctor who it was for, and then BOOOM. I dono why the tardis would blow up i would have thought the universe would blow up instead.

Re: 5x09 [MAJOR SPOILERS]
Good guys die ALL THE TIME in Doctor Who. Not necessarily major characters, most companions survived ... one got lost in time, one died, one was abandoned in the slightly wrong year (the Doctor can be mean if the companion is a pain and a nuissance) and one got married ... I guess that's it as far as companions go from memory from the classic series. Post 2005, we have one trapped in an alternate universe and one who had all her adventures' memories wiped because if she remembers, she dies horribly and painfully. In the spin off Torchwood, well, that's just carnage in a shakesperean proportion. Although DW is primarily a family show it can touch on some very hot topics, for instance, teen pregnancy in the 1930s (Empty Child - Moffat's brightest hour to date).
