Topic: the FINALE - thoughts

I consider it was one of the ultimate happy endings, but none of that "it never happened" ..

IT HAPPENED, and not only did it happen, they were able to learn and use everything they had experienced on the island... even those that had died and lost were able to reunite and live their lives together.

Hurley was the Chosen One ...

YEARS later... we find out Hurley & Ben were Team Island, and even they did good.

I just loved it, I thought it answered so many questions and wrapped up all the character stories.

Re: the FINALE - thoughts

I don't know if you saw Jimmy Kimmel after the Finale but they directors and cast said (and what I feel is so awesome) is that this ending can be interpreted differently for everyone so there isn't "Right" or "Wrong".
Imo , Everything that happened on the Island really happened.

It was a very good finale , I'm sad now because although the show had it's weak points but overall It was AWESOME!!
I think I'll go watch all the seasons now , just for fun... big_smile

it was NOT "we are all dead"

it was "it all really happened and our souls waited for each other here before going into Heaven."

Re: the FINALE - thoughts

So what.. Kate, Sawyer and the other guys who left on the plane, lived their whole lives and then died and somehow got back into the state of mind they had just when they left the island? That seams a bit cruel...

Mostly I was pretty disappointed with this episode...
However, I did really enjoy:

1. BSM hanging a lantern on the Jack becoming new Jacob
[said=Locke (Black Smoke Monster)]Jacob being who he is, I expected to be a little more surprised. You're sort of the obvious choice, don't you think?[/said]

2. I've been waiting this whole season to see Maggie Grace back in the show... so I really liked that wink

Oh, and number 3: [said=Miles]I don't believe in a lot of things, but I do believe in duck tape![/said]

Re: the FINALE - thoughts

Erm..... EPIC FAIL.

Did they forget the story line of the show or somthing?
Its like the finale was totally irrelevant... they anwsered nothing.... so the island has teleported traveld through time and all that other Random SCFI crap, and they end it with the Adult version of "it was all a dream". Wow.

Re: the FINALE - thoughts

Yeah what the hell. They didn't give a good answer to what the island was, the numbers, all the time travel etc. Then they all die, meet up in Limbo and then proceeds (probably) to walk into the light (the door in the church)? I still have so many questions. sad What with the witchcraft stuff jacob and his "mom" did with the water to pass on the responsibility? What was the lava/earthquake stuff? Meh. The finale left me with a good feeling since it all worked out, but as ritman said, they totally forgot the storyline. I'm very confused.

I kinda feel that i wasted my time watching Lost now.

Re: the FINALE - thoughts

And uh.. How did Jacob have special powers? Jack sure didn't. What was the plug Desmond pulled and Jack put back? Why was Richard immortal roaming the island for so long and then became mortal? Who was Charles Whitmore and what was the point of that character? Why did they turn the last season into good vs evil, when the previous seasons had no mention. And why should we care about the fight between Jack and Locke when we don't know what they are fighting about? They didn't explain the light or what would happen if Locke sunk the island and got off. Why were there so many religions in the church?

I hope the 24 finale tomorrow involved Jack Bauer killing everyone.

Re: the FINALE - thoughts

Lol uve pretty much listed everything i wanted to know too.

They totaly forgot the story line of Lost and jumped to a random happy ending without explaining anything.

Even 24 has kinda lost its Spark but hey atleast we see some Cool action. (Like that scene were jack attacks fully armourd last episode, Pure Epicness)

Re: the FINALE - thoughts

brilliantly confusing smile

i have to say, that all the questions on this thred about show/plot have been answered, you just have to look for them.

the numbers example were the constants of an equation that predicted the end of man. These constants had to be changed so the world wouldn't end ... to put it shortly...
And the whole thing was not a dream, only the flashbacks of the final season were a "dream". Jacks's dad said that everything that happened really happened. That's what Desmond was talking about when he said he was helping him (Locke) let go (by driving over him with a car), while he was beating the crap out of Linus.

good show indeed. not enough for six seasons tho, they could have done it better with only four seasons.
good thing about it was you never actually knew what was going to happen next. you could only make wild guesses, but usually you ended up just wrong.

PS. i stil think the island was Atlantis

what doesn't kill you - hurts even more...

you really don't want to watch that.it's almoust an hour of nothing.if you want to watch for the alternate endings

Spoiler

they're just spoofs

when i watched the ending i felt it was good but as more and more hours pass more things pop-up from the show that just remain unanswered,pointless......to many in fact, and those things were part of what have drawn me to the show so i feel i personally didn't get the finale i was promised.this was not just a character show!!if the writers intended it that way than it's the biggest con in tv history

in Rand McNally, people wear hats on their feet and hamburgers eat people

Re: the FINALE - thoughts

So I've wasted around a week of my life watching this. I have to agree with that there has been some great
episodes especially first thirteen in season one. But this ending is just so much BS as usual from USA. Some church and everyone going to heaven. Where was Michael? I could keep listing but im going to the gym taking
out my frustration.

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Yup, mine too.  Felt a little incomplete without him and Walt.  I mean hell, they managed to get the dog in it!

Re: the FINALE - thoughts

i really dont know what to say after this finale...  i feel empty...  i mean, i always knew that the producers wouldnt give us all the answers... but what the fuck?

the WORST part is that i just know that on some commentary track on some bluray/dvd/nextgen-media that is released in like 10 years, one of the producers is gonna say what its all about and i´m not gonna frakkin know about it!! arg!

if the apocalypse comes.... beep me!

they won't cuz they had no idea of what they wanted to do with the show, and that can be seen clearly from season 5.they say they knew from the beginning how the end of the show would look but i'm certain that's just the scene where jack closes his eye thus full circle.they created a great mystery but couldn't come up with a good enough explanation for it so they didn't explain anything(basicaly).
i think the blueray's coming out in august, with more explanations as they say but i'm thinking it's gonna be another load of b.s. like the "alternate endings" sad

Re: the FINALE - thoughts

TBH Lost went down hill After they Teleported the Island. There were a few good episodes after it but, it kinda killed it for me when they when from an ACTUAL story line of survivors of a plane crash to..... Full on Scifi with a load of random and irrelivent events.

Re: the FINALE - thoughts

the line that hurley says to ben outside the church is something like:

"you were a good number 2"

whereupon ben answers:
"and you were a good number 1"

that really sums it all up right?

that the island-events were "real" and that the sideways flashes were purgatory or some places where the souls of each person waited for each other...
also, doesnt locke say that jack doesnt have a son in the hospital?  menaing that none of this is real?

BUT.  did they all die in the blast that seemingly created the diverging timelines?  or did...  ah frack it... im gonna have to watch this all over sad

if the apocalypse comes.... beep me!

Re: the FINALE - thoughts

I swear the plane was covered in explosives, that's why Flocke didn't fly away in it.
