Life on Mars all the way. Love the show, its surreal and the writing is brilliant. If you wonder which one i cant really say. I like Gretchen Moll better than Liz White. On the other hand John Simm is great. Hmm but Harvey Keitel is great. As i said i cant choose.

Castle is okay... but I went with Life. I haven't seen all shows on this list, but Life I really liked so I don't believe that any of the others could beat it.

And if you think the camera work in the pilot is unecessarily shaky, know that they tone that shit down a bit later on in the show.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but on wiki it says "Each season of The Wire focuses on a different facet of the city of Baltimore. They are, in order: the illegal drug trade, the port system, the city government and bureaucracy, the school system, and the print news media." Only the first one sounds like a cop show, really.
