Re: Lost 6x04 - Could Contain Spoilers
So the evil guy used to be an
once... or did he lie? interesting
Re: Lost 6x04 - Could Contain Spoilers
No I believe you are right. I mentioned earlier that Ying/Yang was involved, because Jacob was always portrayed in white clothes and anti-Jacob in dark clothes. The scene where anti-Jacob throws out the white stone from the scale is another proof that they are both opposites, but relying on eachother for the balance.
Protector vs Persecutor ? If we go along the line that Richard is telling the truth to Sawyer (I'm convinced he is) and the motivation anti-Jacob has to leave the island, the whole world would be doomed. Jacob seems to be the only means of that not happening. I suspect someone else is going to be resurrected as Jacob.
The notion of anti-Jacob being a normal human in the past is like John Locke was in the past: he now is controlled by another "spirit". I'm actually suspecting that Christian is anti-Jacob.
This series is getting more interesting every episode !
Re: Lost 6x04 - Could Contain Spoilers
who wrote then those names in the cave? did anti-Jacob lie then to Sawyer?
Re: Lost 6x04 - Could Contain Spoilers
I believe the not-yet-crossed-out names are the "candidates" that were referred to this episode. I think they are talking about possible heirs. That's why anti-Jacob crossed out Locke's name: he's dead and I guess it doesn't count as an heir because he appears twice in the same time/space. But some people were crossed out and still alive, maybe because of the lacking faith, like Kate and Claire.

Re: Lost 6x04 - Could Contain Spoilers
tl;dr
Use paragraphs for god sake. It's so hard to read what you write... As well as being the usual "looking into it too deep".
I think Jacob wrote the names in the cave..
As Locke stated, Jacob did write them, he also had a thing for numbers.
Phuncz, we've already seen that Locke is the anti-Jacob. Unless you mean that everyone who is "infected" (as the Chinese dude put it last week), are part of this anti-Jacob movement, and that is what Ilana meant by "he's recruiting"? (Infected so far, Sayid, Christian and Claire).
Re: Lost 6x04 - Could Contain Spoilers
I think we see some nice stories to restore balance. Did you notice that on the scale the black stone was slightly heavier than the white stone So naturaly the bad/dark/SmokeMonster/Locke thingy was more powerful.
Now it makes perfect sense that Sayid is the reborn Jacob and fights Locke.
I think the names and numbers in the caves are players of both forces like on a chess board. Both powers use/manipulate all players during there whole life/time and over the whole word, but the final candidates are brought to the island and fight the final battle - if they want or not.
OK folks - the betting office has opened - which side will win?
Re: Lost 6x04 - Could Contain Spoilers
since all they show lately is drama, then my bet is the dark side. and aliens.

sorry godz, but i think the alien hypothesis was dismissed by mr lindelof early on.
“We’re still trying to be … firmly ensconced in the world of science fact. I don’t think we’ve shown anything on the show yet … that has no rational explanation in the real world that we all function within. We certainly hint at psychic phenomena, happenstance and … things being in a place where they probably shouldn’t be. But nothing is flat-out impossible. There are no spaceships. There isn’t any time travel.” — Damon Lindelof
Well.... there sure was some sort of time-traveling in Season 5
Re: Lost 6x04 - Could Contain Spoilers
I think Sawyer will wind up killing New John Locke..I think that will be the balancing factor for the island by the end.
Re: Lost 6x04 - Could Contain Spoilers
...and in the end, Starbuck disappears.

so since there was time travel i bet there will be aliens
Re: Lost 6x04 - Could Contain Spoilers
As far as Lindelof's comment, that's just another misdirect, said before they introduced time travel. He could've just as well said, "There isn't any time travel, YET."
As far as Blackbox's betting, I still maintain LOST is about demonstrating the nature of karma, not about any side winning anything; only yielding a balancing effect.
I'm sad the show will be over this year, I've really enjoyed it overall, then again, some certainty as to what it's all been about will be a nice consolation.
and a great reason to start watching it all over again

hellz yeah! who's with us?
im going to start with first season when this one end. mainly to check for the alleged consistency through the seasons.
Good luck with that - the writers didn't know where to go during season 2 and 3, so they shifted the story somewhat. I don't know if it all makes sense once you know how it ends. But I'll rewatch it probably too, but in a few years not directly after it ended.

kinda agree with BB here. no point to rewatch it right away.

it would be a nice demonstration of duality to sayid would be taken over by jacob.sayid is the man who judged souly by what he has done throughout his life is the second "darkest" character after ben,and although he regreted most of what he did and tried to stop he still returned eventualy to killing.he`s a predator.locke on the other hand has always been a "victim",he was the pray of of his own father...he leaned by deed mostly toward what seemingly jacob stands for.....i think they "change candidates"...or maybe i`m already to mindfucked to see things straight:)

I'll probably wait and do my yearly tradition of watching previous seasons of Lost during the week in between Christmas and New Year (as a build up to watching the new box set of DVDs I usually get at Christmas).

Ah sorry, I said "Christian IS anti-Jacob" but I meant WAS, like new-Locke is now. It seems logical to me because there are oddities surrounding him:
- he has been a prominent "mystery" character and NONE of his strange appearances have been explained as far as I know
- he was supposed to come onto the first plane, dead in the coffin. Just like Locke. But he wasn't there when they opened the coffin. Maybe the trick anti-Jacob played with Locke didn't work because Christian wasn't "chosen" ?
- a lot of people have seen Christian but only one person knows him if I'm correct
- Jack is his sun, Claire is his daughter and Claire's daughter is the first child born on the island without killing the mother
Re: Lost 6x04 - Could Contain Spoilers
someone at work told me yesterday how he think lost will end:
bill gates wakes up on a couch wearing a red leisure suit and says "uh, that was a strange dream".
then he takes a manly sip of coca cola. the end.
lol maybe its really depicting the power struggle between Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, as for the coca cola sipping, does that mean Steve Jobs drinks Pepsi?
Re: Lost 6x04 - Could Contain Spoilers
You do mean Claire's SON Aaron, as opposed to Claire's daughter, as Claire doesn't have a daughter? Danielle had a daughter, if that's what you mean? Maybe a connection there. After giving birth, they both go mad, like most mothers? haha, just kidding
you're right, sorry. Mistyped it...
