The Vampire Diaries (Page 5 of 5)

Sooo... I spent the last few months watching TVD and TO as I had gotten into Legacies when it came out and loved it (to me it's the closest thing to an actual X-Men TV series... except with magic). So as we were on lockdown again I was prompted to watch both series by a good friend who had been prodding me to check them out ever since I told him I really liked Legacies.

While I LOVED all of The Originals, despite (or maybe because of) how heartlessly the writers kill off my favorite characters (ugh, that ending... I'm still mad), however TVD was a much bumpier ride... at least for me. In the end I only really liked the first 3 season... S4 was somewhat okay but after that the show seemed kind of all over the place for awhile. Personally I came to despite the love-triangle even more and Elena, as a Vampire, was THE WORST!

However once Elena left the show it was almost palpable... BonFire, Caroline, Matt and Ric (when he came back) were the only reasons I held on through the dark times of S4-S6... until the season finale of S6 when I started to have some hope that the series would reward my commitment with some good character growth and stories... Unfortunately while I enjoyed the supporting characters exploits the main-characters were a bane and the ending was almost just STRAIGHT TRASH!

In the end while I like that I now have a larger knowledge of the Legacies world, and am up to re-watch that series, I doubt I'll ever return to TVD the way I do with some series (like Legacies).

Anyway I'm just posting here as Next-Ep doesn't have a 'review' option nor does the system support half-stars and/or allow us to rate a show by seasons: I rate would rate S1-S3 at 3.5-4 stars while the rest is more of a 1.5... And while I wouldn't call this a review I did want to add my 2¢
