Topic: Favourite Die Hard?
Okay, so this is just a filler poll until Santah is ready with his site improvement one, and I figured since I was watching Bruce Willis kick ass at the moment I'll poll you guys on your favourite Die Hard. Notice I didn't include an option for you to say you don't like any Die Hard, because if you don't like any of them then you're dead inside and I don't want you filling out my polls. And if you haven't seen any of them go watch them now, then come back and fill in the poll!!

Yeah, the first one rules! That's what I'm watching right now. In order I would put them 1, 3, 2, 4.

Re: Favourite Die Hard?
1st one is best because of Hans Gruber... The 2nd one is good because it's directed by a finn... The 3rd one is good because there is a finnish guy in one role... The 4th is awesome because of the quote:
You just killed a helicopter with a car! I was out of bullets.
...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?
Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Yeah, one silly idea so long ago and they couldn't undo it. But the worst Polish translation in my opinion is "Terminator" which was translated to "Electronic Murderer"

3rd was the best..."As I was going to St. Ives I met a man with seven wifes" 1st was awesome also 4th was nice...liked some of the effects, and I mean...dudes...he KILLED a HELICOPTER! with a CAR!! c'mooooooooon that's gotta mean something second was slow and lame. xrnzaaas wrote:Yeah, one silly idea so long ago and they couldn't undo it. don't get me started on translations in hebrew. we have the bizzarest team who translates movies almost everythng has "lethal" or "american" in front of it. "The Hang Over" was translated as "On the way to the wedding we stopped in Vegas" which made everybody think it's a chick flick and made it fail in theaters

oh wow...electronic murderer...that really puts into perspective how some cool things can be ruined by their names. that'd be like naming matrix "computer simulation" or something.

i feel for you...in my country they tend to prefer precise translation. you can usually tell by the name which movie it was in english.

Re: Favourite Die Hard?
Why do they even have to translate movie/show titles.

It's the old people, they don't speak english. if they're going to attach the subtitles, might as well translate the title too. so yes, i blame old people. as it is, many people judge the book by its cover so it would be unwise to make the cover hard for them to understand.
