Yes, I love such good use of the equalizer. Limiting the frequency by dropping the low and high parts to make it sound like radio and then slowly fading the equalizer out to make the music "full" again is one of my favorites. For other great uses, see Love, Actually.

Re: The Good Wife

Ach, watching every episode of this show is like listening to jazz on a sofa by a fireplace on a warm evening, drinking wine (not that I would know).

Re: The Good Wife

Guest starring in 2x06. Watch that episode and then think if you want to watch the whole show or not. It's fantastic, but not everyone likes legal shows (besides, there's a background plot).

Re: The Good Wife

Okay, so I started watching this show the other day... I am now at episode 1x18, and I'm so damn emotional that I just have to talk to someone about it. I almost started to cry.
It was the episode centered on the jury. A young girl is accused of shooting her roommate... in the end she plea-bargains for 10 years, but we get to know that she would have been found not guilty.
Just think about it, having to spend the years 18-27 in prison for something you didn't do... and only because you were afraid to gamble....

Re: The Good Wife

I can't believe The Good Wife doesn't have it's own forum, just this tiny entry here. The writing and acting is fucking phenomenal. The best show on TV, hands down. Pretty much blowing my mind with every single episode. Love the weekly cases and the overarching story is just bad-ass. This is how you make serialized entertainment!

Ok, I have an idea.

Kelinda vs Eli Gold. Who would won? big_smile

Re: The Good Wife

I would join you in the forum, don't worry ...

Hm, after that extremely stylish dismemberment of the car with a baseball bat I have to give the edge to Kalinda. I think Eli was one of the most inspired characters (as written and performed) in the first season, but so far this season he has been ... lackluster. I hope they are saving all his good stuff for the campaign finale, which is said to transpire before the season finale, or maybe his introduction set the bar ridiculously high and nothing they do now can measure up. Who knows.

Still, loving every second of every episode and any second with Eli in it even more.

Ari Gold > Eli Gold

ok ok i don't know the good wife yet, so i can't be sure. I misread Eli for Ari, but it's difficult to top Ari Gold from Entourage as character smile

While I agree that Ari Gold is phenomenally awesome (and probably the only thing next to copious amounts of nudity that keeps me watching Entourage), wait until you've the way Eli Gold is introduced in the middle of the first season. His behavior and antics pretty much rival Ari's and it just might be the single best character introduction ever.

Full ack. My only problem is his hair style. I don't like that slick, gelled-down style ... it makes his ears stand out much more.

Re: The Good Wife

So now it's a 1 versus 1 and 6 episodes left. Also I liked the guest starring of John Benjamin Hickey from The Big C. smile And the last four minutes were fantasticly played. Though I hope that as Kerry, Derrick Bond will stay on the show, Michael Ealy is a lot better in TGW than in FlashFailure.

(Sometimes I wish that The Good Wife should be on a cable show, it's wasting it's potential on national TV).

Re: The Good Wife

Such a good episode! And epically played - I'm usually one to spot the "it was all part of a plan," but they had me going. I was so relieved that Julius was just playing Bond - I am fan of Michael Boatman since Spin City and would have hated it if he turned out to be a bad guy ...

Especially with the regular ratings scares we're getting. Looks like this week's episode rebounded back to its usual 2.1 rating after it slipped to 1.9 last week due to being pre-empted by the election coverage in Chicago, so that's good. But it is still losing a ton of viewers from NCIS and NCIS:LA and it's under-performing for CBS' standards. It also didn't win any Golden Globes this year so it's going to be harder to keep for another season as a "critical darling" (which many argue saved it the last time). I hope it'll just move to another night and CBS will order another season. But I agree, it would do much better on a cable network.

Re: The Good Wife

ok i finally checked it out, even tho im very suspicious when it comes to lawyer shows but the good wife is definately an exception and no procedural show at all.

it's a compelling show which slowly but steadily pulls u in so that u care for their relations and interactions and not just about the cases.

I'm already at 2x12 and enjoying it very much. Eli Gold is an interesting character indeed, even tho i still think that Ari Gold from entourage beats him smile

The only thing which i dont like are the children and their behaviour/missteps which are a bit annoying but besides that the good wife is very good.

Re: The Good Wife

Wee, another convert. I agree, I'm not a big fan of the kids either. The daughter is starting to be borderline annoying lately and Becca is the only saving grace for the son.

It never ceases to amaze me that I adore a show not only built on current real-life events (the Spitzer affair) but one that uses them so often (The Social Network, Chinese torture). I usually despise any show that comes even close to current events, yet The Good Wife consistently pulls their best episodes with topical stories. It makes me wonder if CBS isn't mandating they tackle hot topics every once in a while and the writers, for fear of losing audiences who like me dislike shows going topical, try to put the best drama and character development into these episodes. What happens then is the writers also manage to make the topical story interesting and very well written and these episodes which I should hate by all rights turn out to be the best thing The Good Wife did.

I love this show so much!

Re: The Good Wife

The end of the episode really didn't throw me, since I just recently started watching the show, watching all the episodes in under a week. To me I thought it was already hinted at in a few episodes that she did sleep with him, and has been trying to hide it.
