Ah. Ok. Very specific both of you. Thanks. Re: webcomicsnivalis wrote:
I only know they love Conan O'Brien and saunas. Oh, yeah, and they invented Santa Claus. I also remember Santa Claus as a mean drunk, so there might be some truth to this. Re: webcomicsFinnish people like to drink, yes that is true. And we don't talk much. Santa Claus is not a mean drunk, atleast not the Finnish one. People from Pohjanmaa and Etelä-Pohjanmaa are known for wielding knives... All in all, those comics are a viewpoint of a 23-year old Danish woman... ...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?
Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves. Re: webcomicsDaemonius wrote:
Seeing that as a child, Santa Claus is not the fictional character, but whomever put in front of you with a beard. I was in no way implying 'your' santa was a mean one. And I'm pretty sure no one took the clever danish woman's stereotypes as facts about you Finns. She even stated in one of her artist commentaries how she had to read up about finnish stereotypes, because of the common Danes little experience with Finns. The fact that you ended up in defencive stance says to me that she may have hit a nerve, though. :D By the way, she hit the nail on the head when it comes to us Norwegians, with the little brother complex towards Sweden. It's the embarrassing truth. Re: webcomicssince finnish people visit estonia the most, all estonians know finns to be 24/7 drunk. thankfully they leave their knives at home. Re: webcomicsI can't say I was aware of any stereotype around Finnish people. Probably since I don't know any irl. In fact D-man, you're probably the only Finn I know at all well (that I know of at least - anyone else around here from Finland?), so if I was to come up with any kind of stereotype it would be based on you. Do you carry a knife around with you? Wear a hat with ear flaps? Re: webcomicskarenbear wrote:
nah, I don't. And I drink responsibly. So I'm not a stereotypical Finn. ...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?

Neither am I. I always was a social person and I don't drink that much. Come to think of it, I don't even really fit in the nerd category, even though I should. Re: webcomicsnice Re: webcomicsrofl... nice one indeed Re: webcomics
