Re: Defying Gravity
I really like the potential this show holds, I really do enjoy a space show where the budget really allows to have that 'high-end technology' which NASA would have in the future. Hopefully it will turn out to be great.

Just woke up a big hungover but I'm downloading and we can discuss later! Re: Defying GravityI liked the whole H2IK sequence thing... Is it just me, or does this show remind anyone of lost? Big mystery, flashbacks all the time... 34 2009-08-21 23:59:22 (edited by maccool111 2009-08-21 23:59:54)37 2009-09-06 23:51:06 (edited by Keisu 2009-09-06 23:51:38)Re: Defying GravityI'm really curious about where they're taking this. I am not sure I like the whole mysterious side of it (don't know what else to call that whole hallucinations-thing with Mars and all...) as it might make them ruin it all, re: Lost... Abot the backflashes: They HAVE to reduce it eventually, don't they? They can't keep bringing back new elements from the past forever? And the flashes make me dislake Zoey more and more, so if they continue... But great show! One of the best in a long time! Since Battlestar Galactica anyway... Re: Defying GravityI really like this show.. makes me think of Deep Space 9 + Lost. Re: Defying GravityI'm loving this show. It is a little on the slow side, but some very good elements there. I've heard them refer to Gamma as well - perhaps there are two of the beings? Re: Defying GravityRe: Defying Gravityok, so 4 episodes in I got it. It's grey's anatomy, very much so, meets solaris/a space odyssey. Two things that I like on their own, the problem is twofold - a) they don't mix well; b) I'm getting this lost vibe, like the writters themselves are very much lost and don't know what to do. As I'm thinking about it, b) is very grey anatomish, but it just doesn't work with the whole alien controlling the mission thing. They got it right in the first (second?) episode. SPOILERS BELOW When main dude from Band of Brothers had visions about blond chick suiciding through the airlock, so he could hook her up when testing the venus suit, so the alien-thing could open the airlock, so the micro leak or whatever could be found, so nerd-physisist guy could figure out that she needs to spit to slow the leak and they can save her. - That I can live with, that's the right idea. The other stuff is plain weird - why would alien-thing make them go mad? Make blond-chick hear her lost baby, or main dude from band of brothers see long lost love and go chasing after it? And than there's the Grey's Anatomy trade mark weird, where a super professional astronaut, that spent years training for a mission, totally freaks out paints his face and goes out to suicide himself. Seriously? Suspension of disbelief shattered. Anyways, I'll probably give it another couple of episodes, if they just go on calling it "IT" and giving shots of boardrooms with people with background music every time they explain alien thing, I'll just quit it. my 10c Posts: 26 to 50 of 194Forums - Next Episode → TV Show Discussions → Defying Gravity |
