Re: True Blood S02

First of all: blond chick is HOT! And Michelle Forbes is fabulous, again.
Actually, that's how I can summaries this episode big_smile And the song playing while The Blond Hot Chick is dancing is Sammy Kershaw, Louisiana Hot Sauce.

But hey, what does Hank from Breaking Bad doing here?!

Sammy Kershaw - Louisiana Hot Sauce
big_smile:D:D

She's Louisiana Hot Sauce
Hotter than a fireball
Smoother than strawberry wine
She's lookin' good as I've seen

/edit2

I've watched the blonde dance part like 25 times already and I just can't get enough. big_smile

Re: True Blood S02

wow...you must really like that blonde big_smile

again, a good eps...i kinda like how Eric seems so bored at everything he does, nice and cruel. andy is still more gay than lafayatte though, damn...

Re: True Blood S02

Before The Dance I didn't pay to much attention to her. But now... big_smile

Re: True Blood S02

Nice bonus in the form of the blonde in negligee, but still not enough boobage on all fronts. It's not like I need it, but the last few eps have been teasing us with both the blonde and the new vampire, yet not a shed of skin. C'mon! smile

Re: True Blood S02

they just teasing, i bet you'll be disappointed when you get to see it sad

Re: True Blood S02

Did you seriously just write, that nudity is bad?

Re: True Blood S02

nivalis, did you realize that most of the sex on the show happened in non-vampire-related context? Obviously, we got to see Paquin's breasts the first time she had sex with Bill, but other than that season 1 has been mostly about the sexual exploits of young Mr. Stackhouse. And now we have "old and ugly girls gone wild" orgy parties that also have nothing to do with vampires.

So while I like your analogy, it falls short in this case. Not only is True Blood not a show about vampire rights - that is just a very interesting backdrop for the main story, as is the "hidden" war between humans and vampires - it also shows the prevalent sexuality of the human nature. It only happens that vampires are usually the trigger for that.

I don't think the show would be better or worse without the sex, but since its HBO and the show does nothing so far but tease us with extremely hot women, I say bring it on. (Btw. I think most of here are rooting for a sex scene between the blonde and Jason, which has absolutely nothing to do with vampire porn.)

Re: True Blood S02

Wow, I bet this is the first thread where somebody mixed sex/nudity, vampires, TV talk and Wittgenstein ...

nivalis wrote:

what is the main story in your opinion?

I never claimed that the sexual exploits of Mr. Stackhouse add anything to the main story. In my eyes the story is about Sookie, her getting to know the world as a very dangerous but exciting place, where her (not so) unique gift helps her survive. Currently a big part of that story is her love for Bill and it remains to be seen whether the show will take the same route as the books and later replace Bill with Eric as Sookie's love interest. (They already did not kill Lafayette, so I doubt it.)

The vampire rights thing is really something like a third layer down from the main story - human prejudice and stubbornness, none of which Sookie has due to her herself being different, is more of a story element than the rights-issue. Obviously it plays into the vampire rights thing, but in my view the show's main point (other than the coming-of-age for Sookie and her love story) is "prejudice is bad" and "different doesn't mean evil." That is a far cry from coming out for or against vampire rights.

If the show was serious about that topic - which btw. would be awesome - we'd see much more of the pro and con arguments and not just rare flashes of the "vampire spokeswoman" on TV every now and then. You want to tell a story about rights movements, you show how the movement impacts your main characters, have them actively interested/participating in it, etc. and not just something that gets mentioned here and there as something "the other vampires in the cities do."

There's just not enough focus on the topic for it to be what the show is about. I think you might be projecting something into the show which it is not. I'm not saying that as a bad thing - in fact that makes the show even better, because it means more to multiple people. But faulting the show for "disrespecting" civil rights movements with too much sex is IMHO a misconception on your part smile

Re: True Blood S02

S02E05

Still think, that this season is way better than the previous (maybe 'cause of Forbes and Skarsgård, they are great actors). And Jason's plot is starting to become good.

Best quote of the episode:
Vampire-hating church annihilated. Wonder who did it? Fucking brilliant.

Re: True Blood S02

I liked the episode, but Sookie infiltrating The Church of the Light or whatever they are called? That has the potential to drive me away from the show. I am dreading the upcoming episodes. If the remainder of the season is seriously spent with her in that church, I will be pissed. (And I know for a fact that Bill and Sookie won't make it back to Beautemps before the season's finale.)

How cliched and predictable can you get? Sookie gets in, meets Jason; he's going to pretend he doesn't know her for her safety, but it will be a struggle between his brain washing and his love for his sister. She starts snooping around and finds something important, but either somebody from the church or even the vampire traitor will blow her cover. She'll be in imminent, life-threatening danger when Jason snaps out of it and saves her. It won't be enough for both of them to escape, but it will buy enough time for the sun to go down and at the last possible, heart-stopping moment will Eric and Bill arrive with the cavalry ...

The only good that can come of this story is en epic vampire vs. church battle at end of the season, but I'll doubt we are going to get it. And that outline hasn't even taken into consideration all the side-stories with the blonde church chick, which will probably somehow by proxy get killed by Jason (she's going to protect him from a bullet or something equally stupid), which will only enrage her husband, who's going to start a vendetta against Jason/Sookie. Because god forbid we would have an evil church - no matter how fanatical they are, the show has got to be able to point the finger at one misguided megalomaniac as the bad guy. *sigh*

Re: True Blood S02

WOW, that vampire can sing!

I marco is probably right with the plot.
And the people at orgy had dark eyes like someone from Carnivale big_smile
And yet, another cliffhanger :<

I know that pig! Pig! Fucking pig...

Re: True Blood S02

Wow, nivalis is living out some fantasies? wink

Anyway, while the Sookie-church story was predictable, they moved it along extremely quickly, so I am happy. There was no lengthy "undercover" part and that was good ... Bring on the next episode!

Re: True Blood S02

I'm really enjoying season 2, maybe because I'm also reading the 2nd novel and it's differant enough from the show to make it very enjoyable but also builds on many of the scenes in the show.
The 2nd season is based off the 2nd book so I'm neck and neck between the two. I'll over take the show today/tomorrow but that's ok.
The book reveals more about the orgy parties and the witch who runs them.

I was hoping in episode 6 that Sarah would get her gear off with Jason and it came so close. It was like almost getting there but not getting to finish if you know what I mean. smile
I'm enjoying the Jason storyline because I've been watching the sexual tension between Sarah and Jason since she first saw him playing football. Plus I'm waiting to see if the Reverand is using Jason to get to Sookie.
Plus there will be a point when Jason has to choose a side when he finds Sookie is held captive and there is no doubt he'll go with his sister but with Sarah involved it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Re: True Blood S02

Reading nivalis' postings is almost as entertaining (and disturbing) as watching True Blood itself smile Interestingly since the last 5 minutes of the episode built up the tension so well, I did not even register that the blonde church chick, which I have been waiting on for so long to show us some skin, was about to do that. I actually thought what if her job is to occupy Jason long enough for them to kidnap Sookie, i.e. what if all her tears etc. are just an act? My guess is that they actually want Jason to sacrifice his sister to prove himself. (While it is still possible they do not know that she is Jason's sister, it would be silly if them knowing so much about her (mindreading, how she looks) would not include her name and putting two and two together.)

Re: True Blood S02

Only "extremely quickly" when you compare it to the GLACIAL tempo of the show overall.... what, they've been hanging out at the hotel for what two.... three episodes?

Don't get me wrong, I love the show.... but the plot develops pretty darn slowly... also, I could do without the whole Michelle Forbes plot...*yawn*...
