Re: How do you plan to survive the lack of new tv over the summer?
I bought the complete dvd set of the Gilmore Girls real cheap so I am probally gonna watch that. Also I got tons of dvd movies that I really want to see again. So I will not be bored this summer. But I do have heavy withdrawl symptones and a bad chase of depresion so I am glad when its september again lol. I miss my shows and I am upset about some shows that are cancelt. So I need some new shows to fill up the hole in my heart. Witchy

I'm rewatching old shows (SG-1, The Prisoner, Star Trek TOS,...) and I have some shows that I haven't finished watching like Lie To Me, True Blood and Breaking Bad. And I also have TONS of movies to watch!

@Mxyzptlk I enjoyed Gilmore Girls allot. Its one of the better girly shows. It got on IMDB an 8.3 score with 12.826 votes. It has a great cast besides the 2 Girlmore Girls. To pick something from your watchlist its a somewhat mix between greek and The O.C. Humor, romance, drama and damn good writing. Witchy

Guess I have something to do than Don't really trust the IMDb scores on tv-shows... movies are one thing, but not tv... In my opinion you have to have seen something to cast a vote on it, and if you don't like a show, you don't watch it and than you don't cast a vote, which make all the voters people who likes the show

Stick with it through to the end of season 2 at least, it's totally worth it, and unless you give some adequate reason as to why you can't get into it, we'll forever remain at a loss. You're right about season 1 being kinda boring, it doesn't pick up until seasons 2, 3 and 4! Ask 5D, he just just finished the complete works of 24.
You think I don't know how to give a TV show a chance? I watched the whole of season 1, season 2, and about the first 5 hours of season 3 before giving up. I felt like I was watching the same hour of television over and over again. And it was a ridiculous overblown hour at that. Of course I could make the same argument about watching House, but 24 doesn't have Hugh Laurie, and I don't find Keifer Sutherland anywhere near as entertaining.

The only thing I like about the Gilmore Girls is when the mum and daughter finally kiss. Oh wait...Family Guy again!

Ahh here we go - I knew it had to be something sex related Well - I also don't think Kiefer Sutherland is attractive but he is extraordinary entertaining as Jack Bauer

The sun. And in the evenings I've got Chuck and Sanctuary to watch. Joy. I might give up with them.

If you didn't enjoy it by season 3 then it's just not the show for you. This past season was the worst ever. It just seemed to have lost it's edge and become totally preoccupied with interrogation techniques.

Funnily enough I wasn't using entertaining as a euphemism for sexy - I actually meant entertaining. I find watching Keifer Sutherland a bit like watching paint dry.

So it's only Kiefer or the plot is also boring for you?

I didn't say that. Do you even read what I write, or do you just make it up in your head as you go along? I don't like it because I find it boring and samey. And see how I managed to be all succinct in my opinion. Why write 5 paragraphs when one sentence sums up my opinion nicely.

Both. I find stretching one day over an entire season of television either makes for some very boring episodes, or some ridiculous episodes that I find myself unable to suspend my disbelief over. But I've just never really warmed to Kiefer as an actor either. And I think all those Jack Bauer facts put me off the character as well - they make like the man is indestructible of something, but then I just think of that scene in Indiana Jones and wish someone in 24 would just roll their eyes and shoot the bugger already. When you start wishing for the protagonist to get shot it's probably time to stop watching.

Re: How do you plan to survive the lack of new tv over the summer?
Well, it depends on one's taste really. You don't like the idea with the "occuring in real time" - I love it. You don't like Kiefer - I lo... like him very much You don't like the 'indistructable' thing - it doesn't bother me, just like watching Rambo. Besides, if everyone would like the same thing, it would be boring, right? But ok, end of topic
