Topic: The Simpsons?
The Simpsons has been renewed for at least 2 more years, which from what I've been told will make it the longest running prime time television show in the States, overtaking Gunsmoke, which ran from 1955-1975. But is that a good thing?

Re: The Simpsons?
I couldn't care less. Seen a few eps in the 90s and didn't like it. Futurama & Family Guy are among my favorite animated shows.

Re: The Simpsons?
Couple of last episodes were kinda weird (But still with some good jokes), but i still believe they still got it. At least 19 season was really good. I can't see why this season can't go right way or next one.. Maybe they just got writers block right now or something.

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Re: The Simpsons?
not a big fan... to the point where i don't even let my kids watch it... the 6yo doesn't really care, but i get a bit of a stink from the 8yo... but as an odd insight into my 'parenting' skills, i just bought an 8yo kid 'death note' & 'noir' dvd sets... hmmm... see if you can figure that...

Aw tC, you're such a mean dad. I don't think my folks ever banned my sister and me from watching anything when we were kids. They even let me rent 15/18 movies from the local video store when I was much younger. I think I reached 30 years old when I was about 8.

Re: The Simpsons?
Yeah, I figure mentally I'm about 54, which is only a year younger than my own parents. Of course my dad never really got past age 12, so I've been more mature than him for quite some time now. Not all that different to Homer and Lisa really. Bringing us back round to the subject of the poll.

Re: The Simpsons?
nicely done... what does your dad think about being compared to homer j simpson? mind you, i'd take that over being called a 'mean dad' anyday... the simpsons is the only place i draw the line on my kids viewing habits... and as far as everything else goes i'm perhaps too lax... goes without saying that gore is a no-no... but as far as adult themes go... i don't really see the need in sheltering them too much... methinks the simpsons is just a little bit too socially irresponsible for me to cope with...

Re: The Simpsons?
When it comes to the yellow people as my kids call them (now 5 & 3) I don't need to worry, they just don't like it. They get typically mesmerized because it a cartoon but within 3 minutes I get the call 'DADDY turn it it off'. I'm with tC on this lot. Some times I think my kids need a bit of toughening up - they freaked out at the original Disney Flubber movie this weekend just gone.
I sleep through most or all of these

Re: The Simpsons?
Time for a new poll maybe. On this poll though, i like this season that's on right now, but i wouldnt care if they dropped it, they tried to put wood on the fire with the movie, but i at least didnt like it. I think that instead of keep burning they should lit a new fire, bring us a new series. Im kinda bored with the characters.
