but it's good [internet on phone] for when y'r lying in bed, the laptop's too far away and you can't be bothered getting up... that alone, for me justifies it.... not to mention at work, commuting to work...

they're ugly... my mom has one... [i'm running the 6210 navigator]... a bit of a convoluted menu system, esp compared to the 6210... the buttons feel flimsy... the loudspeaker is not that great... i could go on... not a great phone...

at the end of the day it's your call... i'm pretty happy with the phone i have... but you can count on the fact that the minute the iPhone has a decent capacity i'll be all over it... 4/8 or even 16gb is a bit of a joke..

My old E65 had a 2gb SD card, don't think I ever used more then 200mb out of it. I can't see ever filling those 8gb on the iPhone. Then again, I only download podcasts on it, don't really need space for zillions of music mp3s. Get the toy BB ...

ah, see thats where i start freaking out... my mp3 library hit 25,000 some time ago... and i don't cope very well with not having a good number of wide and varied music styles with me at all times, and as much as i hate carrying lots of devices (currently ipod, psp, pda and a freaking phone) a 200gb iphone would still be a compromise i would struggle to cope with...

well ok i have to agree with this. i would rather carry around 1 device capable of doing everything, rather than 10 different devices, each doing seperate things. still i would never watch videos from a phone. whats the point to kill your eyes watching 2-3 inch screen when you can get better quality home or superiour quality at the movies. as mush hype there is around iPhone i would like to hear NC say that this phone has some flaws. it can not be possible that some gadget is perfect or flawless.

I know all about the flaws of the iPhone, which is why I'm still thinking about it. The main flaw is obviously that it's from Apple and you need iTunes ... On the other hand the Pineapple OS looks really good on the iPhone but then your guarantee is void... And just 16GB without an sdcard slot is kinda sad.

Re: Would you buy a $5 next-episode.net iphone application if it was avail
In the end the reason I won't even consider iPhone is...you need to buy it with a deal. You just can't buy it and choose what operator you want, what kind of deal you want... I don't want a phone that makes me buy a monthly package of callminutes + sms's. I pay for the minutes I talk, and for the messages I send. If it someday comes available as just a phone, call me.
...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?
Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

HTC i probably more expensive than iphone, but I'd still rather buy HTC. It has a nicer look, it has more functions and less people own one.... It is just better...

Some flaws you may not know BB: It doesn't have copy/paste nor can you alt-tab between apps (except for the ipod app I think). Safari is kinda ok, but doesn't have the optimization proxy of Opera Mini (which reduces your bandwidth usage 10 fold), and there is no option to turn off images ... All apps seem to be their own thing - they cannot communicate to each other, nor can they upgrade each other or phone's functionality (for example, you cannot install other call manager, or sms manager than the default ones) Still. Love it. It's the design and the feel when you play with this thing that makes it worth it.

Yes, it does have SOME flaws, but nothing significant to prevent me from owning one.

Ok, first off - true, its from Apple - isnt that great!? Secondly, yes, sadly you need iTunes, but wouldnt you use that anyway - I mean, you dont really think that Windows Media is better?? Lastly, your guarantee is NEVER void - you can always revigirnise / restore your iPhone, Apple can never tell the difference, its all software.

Again, not true - What is wrong with you guys today??? Get the phone on PAYG and then software unlock it and use any network carrier with any plan of your choosing...how hard is that? Thats what I did with my 3G!

Now, finally to you Santah - True it doesnt have copy/paste but you can alt-tab (somewhat). Get an app called 'Backgrounder.app' - read about it, it allows you to run apps in the background. santah wrote:Safari is kinda ok, but doesn't have the optimization proxy of Opera Mini (which reduces your bandwidth usage 10 fold), and there is no option to turn off images ...
I actually quite like safari - i find it smoother than Opera santah wrote:All apps seem to be their own thing - they cannot communicate to each other, nor can they upgrade each other or phone's functionality
Isn't that great!? Its how you keep a system stable - Microshit should have done that long ago! santah wrote:(for example, you cannot install other call manager, or sms manager than the default ones)
Again...sure you can... I use iRealSMS.app - AWSOME app! i have replaced the default MobileSMS.app - never really liked it. Mate, you really need to get in touch with me properly so I can teach you all the tips and tricks santah wrote:Still. Love it. Insuborden wrote:zero122 wrote:So you guys say now... I admit that a phone without internet is fine and you can live perfectly happy like that... but once you get an iphone or blackberry or wtv, and you realize the potential.. there is just no going back...
Trust me, I realise the potential, I just don't feel like spending money on having internet on my small display phone, when I can use my laptop or home pc for that... If it would work on my work-paid phone I'd use it once in a while, for looking up smtn, but never to browse forums and such...
I dont think you do realise the potential!! The whole point is having access to the internet instantly where ever you are, I wouldn't use it at home when my PC is available (nobody is claiming that lol) , and if I'm out and about do you really want to boot up your laptop just to check something quickly?? By the time you've dragged it out of your bag, I've already looked up whatever it is and moved on ;P Its not just internet, it has google maps... so essentially you have a GPS, even when you aren't in your car, or *gasp* how about using it to make a phone call or listen to music or take a photo as well. The whole point of it is convenience, claiming you use your PC or laptop instead sorry to say is missing the point completely. I'm the first to admit its not a necessity, but how many people that have one don't gush about how great it is?? Maybe they are on to something ;D

Re: Would you buy a $5 next-episode.net iphone application if it was avail
Hehehe... this always happens. As soon as there is a potential for Apple vs. The Universe(TM) the fan-war is on. Can't we just agree that the iPhone is an alright phone, and let it go? Brilliant thingamajig, but touch in general is not for me, so I have a Nokia. Which is also good, but equally flawed in its ways. I'm more interested in seeing exactly what platforms people want this app for and what they'd pay for it. But hey, a fanboy war is always fun
