Re: Suggest TV Series

Based on what you've included in your watchlist, I suggest that you definitely check out 'Life', 'Afterlife', 'Huff', and 'PSYCH'....

They all have a psychological element to them, and if you watched Medium and Ghost Whisperer, Afterlife will rock your socks...it's excellent(I personally thought Ghost Whisperer sucked, but keeping with the theme of Mediums, Afterlife is a must see).

Re: Suggest TV Series

For starters: check Chris Ryan's Strike Back and now the followup Strike Back: Project Dawn for yout action fix, you'll like it.

As for the new shows, I try to be out of the loop, because I want to check them out without knowing anything about them. However.

Homeland is about a American soldier, who was captured and tortured in the Middle East for <some> years, now he's back, but they don't know if he is really a 'hero' as the world creates them. I don't know how much drama and how much action it has (see above), but it's from the people behind 24, so I don't think it will be only talking. I think.
The problem is, the sci-fi/fantasy scene is in a real downfall. Why?

About Terra Nova you probably already heard of. http://forum.next-episode.net/viewtopic.php?id=5813

http://i.imgur.com/A0fFM.jpg

Grimm: This procedural with a fairy-tale twist follows a Portland cop (David Giuntoli) who learns he's one of a long line of hunters who must protect humans from the very real supernatural creatures of lore.
Doesn't sound too appealing, right?

The Secret Life: just watch this poster, and ask yourself if you want to watch it. Yeah, I know.

Once Upon a Time: Lost writers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis team up for this fantastical drama about characters from fairy tales who lose their memories and end up trapped in a present-day small town. The story is told through the eyes of a woman (Jennifer Morrison) who comes into contact with the son she gave up for adoption ten years ago. Maybe it will be good, I dunno.

Yet there is also a savior (but now for scifi), Person of Interest, which I believe will be a thriller/mystery/action show, that 24 and/or LOST was.

Ringer you already know.

same here. i wannabe out of loop until i check them out or too many people adore it.

well i read about Homeland description and id did not sound appealing to me.

i will probably check out first episode of terra nova and grimm.

the secret life. poster tells it all. unfortunately i have seen Twilight. (can't erase this from my memory sad )

once upon a time and person of interest i might give 1 episode chance.

and i will write more about ringer in it's right forum.

thank you a bunch orlando.

Re: Suggest TV Series

So...

Christmas is coming so that means at least a couple boring days (don't you just hate boxing day?) and all the shows are on a break. + a couple of procedurals I have currently on my watchlist are starting to bore me. While watching those 2 shows (Hello mr. Jane and mr. Reece) I've started to wonder why am I wasting time on mediocre shows when there are shows I haven't seen that some have billed awesome.

Now my watchlist isn't complete, it's missing a few classics from my youth/childhood and a huge bunch of brittish comedies who I know by their finnish name only.

So basically what I'm looking for is a show that I can marathon through. I'm talking about like at least 3 episodes in one sitting. So repetition is frowned upon! Here's a list I've compiled, I just don't know where to start.

the wire
shield
firefly
mad men
arrested development
rubicon
treme
Battlestar Galactica
Six Feet Under
Human Target
supernatural

The Wire: seen one episode, did seem a bit too realistic for my tastes

Shield: seen one episode as well, liked it, but then saw one episode of Breaking Bad and completely forgot about this show. The reason I didn't return to this show is because a friend of mine spoiled the ending for me. He said (DO NOT CLICK IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE SHOW)

Spoiler

No reason to start watching it as they get away with the bad things they do in the end.

Now if someone who has seen the show would tell me if this is a huge spoiler or not I would be grateful.

Firefly: seen the first episode, seemed ok, just not that OMG BEST SERIES EVER FU FOX FOR CANCELING IT- vibe everyone seems to be on about. Too much hype killed it for me or too early to tell?

Mad Men: never seen a full episode, the adverts for it make it look boring.

Arrested Development: I'm VERY picky when it comes to sitcoms, the only american sit coms I truly like are community and wilfred (also louie if you count it in this category)(and maybe the first 3 seasons of TBBT). HIMYM, Friends, all the new sitcoms this season and so many others I've tried and didn't like that much.

Rubicon: haven't seen anything, slow burn thriller does sound intriguing. I don't mind slow as long as the characters are interesting. Also canceled after 1 season, do they wrap things up or does it end in a cliffhanger?

Treme: tried one episode, thaught it was a bit boring (maybe too realistic just like the wire?) but then heard Anthony Bourdain was in season 2, so it picked my interest again.

BSG: never seen a full episode, tbh I first thought this was similar to B5 and Trekkies with silly looking aliens and thus never got around watching it. Heard it goes a bit too religious towards the end and I think someone has spoiled the ending for this one too (can't remember at the top of my head but might remember when I start watching it).

Six feet under: never seen a full episode, might be a bit too dramaish for me.

Human target: only seen a trailer, this show is here only because it's based on a comic. Might be a bit too repetitive for a marathon?

Supernatural: seen a few episodes here and there, never started watching it because my little sisters liked it and usually my little sisters like crap (like Glee).

Sorry for the overly long post, hope you had the patience to read it through. I might be overthinking this decision (I do that alot). Did I forget something from my list and where would you start watching?

Re: Suggest TV Series

You should definitely watch The Shield , not only is that not a big spoiler but it's not accurate at all.

Also Supernatural is not crap.

Re: Suggest TV Series

Huge thanks Spyder! I think Shield is my 1st candidate atm, good to know about the ending too. I LOVE my FX shows: SOA, Justified, Louie, Archer even the canceled Terriers and Lights Out were awesome! Rescue Me I've seen many episodes but from what I've witnessed it got quite bad at some point. The only FX show I didn't like much was It's always sunny in Philadelphia. I watched the first season and while there were some good episodes in there it just couldn't hold my interest for a second season (also I hate danny devito sad)

EDIT: I ticked the privacy settings, so everyone can have a lookyloo
