Topic: How do you watch most of your TV?
Unlike the old days when watching your favourite show on the television during its official broadcast was the only way to watch, these days there are several options out there for the discerning television viewer. Which is your preferred option? And anyone answering the question with something like "with my eyes" will get scowled at.

Re: How do you watch most of your TV?
This looks a tad one-sided if you ask me I think a lot of the people don't have access to new shows (including me). If there was a way I would watch the broadcasts but I'm not gonna wait a year before I get the legal episode from my local TV network.

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

If I was able to buy good quality (720p+) episodes without that silly DRM stuff I would. While waiting for a good service torrent is my friend.

Re: How do you watch most of your TV?
I actually use my eyes as prefered medium. Unfortunately they have to look into a bigass tv, which is connected to a laptop, which is connectes to a fileserver, which (obviously) is connected to the heavenly iterweb I just didn't find any easier solution.

I didn't know the shows I download from the interwebs could be seen anywhere else. (What's a TV? Is that why they call them "TV shows"?) WOW, you learn something new every day.

Re: How do you watch most of your TV?
You get hardly half of the shows on TV and definately with year or two year waiting. At least here in Estonia. I'm just way too impatient to wait em to get to TV and i get to choose my own time to watch them. so for sure Illegal download for life

Re: How do you watch most of your TV?
OK I'm one of the odd ones out. FOR THE MOMENT Currently it's a miss-match of the choices, minus the Download options. +Mac - EyeTV doing Live recording DVB -> HDMI play back to TV & DVD's rented But my plan is to do as nightcrow does. I have a Divx/Xvid/DVD 1080p up-scaler player connected to my TV.
I sleep through most or all of these

Re: How do you watch most of your TV?
Download it all, except for House atm from which I actually bought the first 2 seasons Download it on my home pc, connect my worklaptop using an svideo-cable to my TV and sit on my couch and watch them In Holland the've got the WORST way of broadcasting TV-shows... They start with the first season, when it's almost finished they stop broadcasting, then after half a year or year the start with the season all over again and show the first bit of season 2... Then stop again for a period of time and start with season 2 again from the beginning... REALLY pisses me off! Also they've started broadcasting Threshold, Bionic Women and some other shows which have already been axed... WHY...

Re: How do you watch most of your TV?
Watch all my TV on TV now, the days of downloading are behind me. I moved into my own flat after starting a proper job, and got Sky, no need to download anything anymore, as its normally on within a few days here anyways. Plus, I don't watch that much stuff.

It's the same way in Finland. For instance, they aired Lost season 4 up to episode 12, which is the first part of the three part season finale, and then just stopped airing it. And the networks will not release any information on if/when they'll continue any show. So, if I hadn't downloaded the last 2 eps of season 4, I might never get to see the rest of the finale.

Re: How do you watch most of your TV?
I prefer watching a whole season (or more) at a time over several days. So download a whole season or more at once or collect them up and watch later. Of course it’s hard to wait with my favorite shows and I sometimes watch just 2 episodes at a time. All this is done on my XviD playing Philips player. It up-scales to 1080i for my HDTV. It also takes any USB drive. Handy for two or three episodes off the hard drive. I don't think I could ever go back to watching TV with commercials or adverts inserted.

Re: How do you watch most of your TV?
Laptopped on planes, trains and automobiles - literally! Also on my pc, and, yes, my good old tv-set. Sometimes live (sport events). Usually canned on DVD, HD, USB-device or tape. Downloaded (what does "illegal download" mean ), recorded with my DVD-R or VCR (still working!), or even bought on DVD. I never watch commercial stuff live on tv. Wast of time. Waste of life. Rec and skip the commercials since I got my 1st VCR back in the 80s. Can't understand people who watch live and complain about the commercials. Oh, yes, and I use pay-tv for much more than a decade. Waste of money. Can't help it. I'm an old fart...

Re-watching stuff... have you ever seen sky, its full of repeated stuff! Re-runs all the time. I have more than my fair share of TV. nightcrow wrote:You dont watch that much!! evil CN2 evil!!!
I know this may come as a shock to some, but since finishing uni, I'm starting to get a life...don't have time to sit and watch TV shows all the time.
