Topic: SG-A s05e01?

It seems that the 1st episode of the 5th season has reached the interwebs torrent sites...well atleast one of them.

Don't know if this is truly the real 501 but who knows.

And I also don't know if it is allowed to tell yous peoples where I found this so I won't.

...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Yeap, give us a link.

It's not illegal to share information about torrent files, just the resulting files themselves.

DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom".

Ok then.

I found it from Ozone-T.

It requires registration though.

Re: SG-A s05e01?

Rodney did not just say "It's Michaels wiki"?? ... hehe

Re: SG-A s05e01?

well - im waiting a few hours to get it in HD  -  size is 1.2 GB instead of 355 MB - but the quality........ its like watching it on DVD :-)

Re: SG-A s05e01?

Man i wish i had anything close to a screen that justifies using HD quality.

Re: SG-A s05e01?

well - if you download in the small size the picture is crap - if you download in HD - the picture is perfect - dosent matter what screen you view it on.

Re: SG-A s05e01?

350 mb version looks just fine on my laptop screen. Anything more is just plain overkill. Waste of my hdd space.

Re: SG-A s05e01?

well - u might be right....

But i also have a laptop - and i can see a BIG difference in the 2 formats - have u tryed to download the 1.2 GB HD episode instead of the 350 mb ?

If not - then try and see for ur self :-)

Re: SG-A s05e01?

Yeah, i admit it is a bit better. But I'm not really sure it is worth the extra download time. Besides, i have so weak VGA that anything over 720p quality sends my laptop haywire big_smile

Re: SG-A s05e01?

hehe - yeah - it does demand a bit more from the CPU :-)

But a great series like stargate and battlestar galactica, etc - deserves that "extra" quality (if possible) :-)

Re: SG-A s05e01?

I watch through my Xbox 360 connected to a HDTV. 350mb rips look fine, the difference over 720p is hardly noticeable unless you go look up close, and I don't sit less than 2 foot away from my TV smile

1.2gb is far too much time to wait for a TV show

Re: SG-A s05e01?

Halo2: That sounds very unlikly.

The quality on the 350 mb rips are like watching a VHS copy - the 1.2 Gb episodes are DVD quality.

My thoughts on your statement is that you havent seen a 1.2 Gb rip yet - otherwise you would not make such a statement!

Regarding the time issue, if you have a low bandwith, then u are right - i have a 15mb line so i download a 350 mb episode in a few minuttes - and a 1.2 Gb episode in about 15 minuttes - so time isent a problem for me :-)

Re: SG-A s05e01?

I gotta agree with Halo2.

I watch all my shows through my xbox360 as well.

While I expect the 1.2Gb version must be a little bit better, I really don't think its THAT much better to justify the time and bandwidth difference. I watch it on my 42 inch LCD and the 350 mb versions look great. Better than VHS quality.

Re: SG-A s05e01?

no matter whether its 720p or not - teyla should die anyway big_smile

Re: SG-A s05e01?

Here you see the big difference.

I think that the reason that i KNOW there is such a big differeence is that i have 4 identical computers - i have had the same 2 episodes running side by side (1 divx and 1 720p hdtv) and all the details on the divx were missing. When people were standing faraway their faces were blured, etc - on the 720p hdtv version they were NOT.

U are missing out on great details (explosions, etc) when you watch the divx versions (you might just not notice it, because you dont have the 720p hdtv version to compare with)

Here is some very great "evidences" of how much quality you loose:

Re: SG-A s05e01?

you gotta be kidding me...... i just downloaded:
stargate.atlantis.s05e01.search.and.rescue in xvid (size 358 mb)

NFO Info:
Video: XVID 624x368 23.98fps 997Kbps [Video 0]
Audio: MPEG Audio Layer 3 48000Hz stereo 111Kbps [Audio 1]
Length: 00:43:38

Its like watching a BAD VHS copy - and thats on my 21" PC screen - after that i played it on my 42" inch sony plasma screen - that made it even worse!!! When a person moves 9 feet away, its almost impossible to see his face - when its in a dark room - every detail disapears totally !

I would rather wait 1 year on a 720p.HDTV.X264 version, then watch that crappy version (its even worse then i remembered it to be!!)

HOW can you say that its a great quality - and how can u spend money on a 42" inch TV and then use such a bad quality on it ?

I even DL 1 other versions - same bad VHS quality:

Re: SG-A s05e01?

Wow, Brian, you're really intent on making your point.  wink

Re: SG-A s05e01?

I never download the 1.2 gig versions... Waiting is just such a drag...

No kitty that's a bad kitty!
