Re: PC vs Mac
I too am moving to the Mac side. But what about Linux, or all the other OSes out there.? Also, but question is a bit vague.

you got it wrong. The question in not about OSes but about platforms. Just like the good old days amiga vs ibm war both pc and macs are types of computers (im turning a blind eye to the fact that mac is rather a brand, while pc is kind of a generic name for a computer in general). They run OSs like windows/linux etc. Up to recent times macs werent able to run any alternative systems due to hardware limitations (or as they liked to call it - specifications ), while PCs could run almost everything. so, to make it short in terms of machine/os: linux/windows/beos/solaris etc is more or less PC, while mac is leopard etc. Thats why mac vs pc isnt windows vs leopard and so on.

Re: PC vs Mac
Since Apple uses Intel CPUs in the new Macs with MacOS X crash as often as Windows, I don't get the question? Mac == PC !!!

Re: PC vs Mac
As was mentionned previously, this debate only sparks stupidity... Both PC (meaning Windows running on X86) and macs are running on a similar platform... Now, if we're talking about the operating systems, I'd have to go with macs as Leopard is an incredible OS ( just as Tiger was) when Xp (albeit alright by many standards) and Vista (an OS I could have done without) are far less advanced, in my opinion, user-wise... As a graphic designer, I may be biased but I am able to work more proficiently on a Apple comp' as I ever was on a PC...

Never touched a Mac myself. It's been my observation however that people less technically proficient seem to do better with them.

Can a PC run both Mac OS and Windows? Mac all the way, still using a G4 PowerMac in it's 7th year, how many PC are still going at that age? BTW - I do also have a newer PC but spend 99% of my time on the Mac.

Errm, sadly, nowadays they do. I have a brand new iMac, but I have been running OSX on my pc for quite a while now. Kalyway, JaS, Leo4all - these are a just a few of the OSX releases for pc. lancer1993 wrote:Mac all the way, still using a G4 PowerMac in it's 7th year, how many PC are still going at that age? Now this is true! You cant beat mac performance.

ladida far from it. ( can a Aussie yob be ladida ?? ) We are just greedy, evil bastardos here at work. Tell the bosses you need it and you get one. This is now no longer the case, someone has been looking at the budget. I think it has something to do with our boss being ex ARMY his motto "if you need it, get it" I use a PC at home if it makes you feel better.

Maybe not true in your case but generally that's the rule of thumb - macs are user friendly out of the box. @Lancer1993 every single one? Damn Small Linux for example. Runs great on 486s with 8megs of ram. The question is what you use that mac for and how comfortable your work is
